Not a fan of that setup, since it has the sticks scrunched together at the middle. I want to get them at the ends of armrests, just like in the game, but more because I think it would be infinitely more comfortable than because that's how your pilot looks in the game.

Best thing is to build your own as an extension to a chair or couch. The use of PVC allows to to build it to any width/height you like. The second link is just a wall of pictures to get ideas.

You can use velcro to anchor it to the couch or yourself, there is another version that uses concrete blocks to keep it from moving around.

I'm going to extend the Throttle/Stick cable on my T-Flight by coupling it to some CAT 5e cable using this device:

There are things to like about a DIY PVC pipe rig, but living in an apartment rather than a house has me wondering where on earth I'd store the thing while not in use. I've seen pictures while doing some research on this, and they all look very bulky, and not easily collapsible.

People are probably thinking I'm being very picky here, and they are right. Even if I don't leave this thread with a solution, we are documenting some great ideas that could work for someone, and I haven't given up yet.

One obstacle I keep coming back to is armrests though... does anyone have good ideas on where to find or how to build something cushy but supportive to put under my elbows and forearms to bring them to the level of the sticks? Obviously, what rig they are paired with may influence their viability, but I wonder if anyone has ideas from another project that might apply broadly here?

I found this, it's called the couchmaster.

A little expensive, but maybe you can home brew something like this.

I have seen that. If it was 20 bucks, I'd buy it. If there were an awesome steel frame like the one I showed for the racing wheels that was perfectly and intentionally set up for sticks, a keyboard, a mouse, and a cup holder, and collapsed down really small for storage, I would pay what they are asking for the couchmaster, or more.

I would really feel ripped off buying that thing for what they're asking, which is about what the hotas itself runs if I recall. There's a post out on the interwebs of some one building their own, but it was pretty rough, and I don't have power tools here. (Or access to any within two states away.)

Getting a bit frustrated with the lack of quality options here.

There are some other ideas here at this link.

http://www.tested.com/tech/pcs/456792-l ... e-problem/

In fact, I do believe the idea shelf is a good one. You could get 2 shelves, one longer so you put the stick and throttle on the ends, the shorter one in the middle, raise it up with some sort of legs. Then put the keyboard and mouse there, and if need be, mount a us but hub under the middle shelf.

In fact, I am going to see if I can make this work for me. If I can get it right, I can use it on my office chair, and my idea poang chair next to my desk when I want to relax more.

Not sure if I'm visualizing that correctly. 2 shelves parallel to the couch, and the one with keyboard and mouse higher?

Here is my bad description :)

Let me use fake measurements here, ok?
Take one shelf, 1 meter long. Take another .5 meters long. Put the short one on top of the longer, so that it is centred. Now, put some sort of legs under the short shelf so it is lifted up, say 10cm.

Does that make sense? The raised middle shelf is for your keyboard and mouse. The longer shelf sticks out on each end to hold stick and throttle.

You could think of it like the couchmaster, but without the armrests. The middle part of the couchmaster is for the keyboard and the ends for the stick.

Heck, you could use pieces of wood and make the C shape of the couchmaster one put some pillows on the sides to Make arm rests.
