The server went down earlier today, and when it came back up there was something called "Surface Map" under the Navigation menu. I don't know how it works. When I tried to use it, it brought me to "System Map." After a while, "Surface Map" disappeared and I couldn't use...

the waypoint on page one will guide you about half way, after that the stars are too dense to make sharing a route worthwhile so you'll need to plot your own.
