Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

So I finally took the plunge today on upgrading from 8.1 to 10. Could not install, error unknown.

Oh well. Hopefully they'll have it sorted by July.

You are definately not the first one having problems upgrading.. I could not even download the thing for a long time. I think it was after deleting all windows update temp files it downloaded correctly for my old pc. For my current pc I did it some other way, can't remember if it was by downloading ISO and upgrading from it or something else. Try looking up your error message from https://www.reddit.com/r/windows10.

Cheers JSG. I can't be bothered to be honest. If MS wants people to move to Win10 the should make the upgrade work. I'll stick to 8.1 and see what happens down the line. Probably end up getting Win10 when I get my next pc.

I eventually ot Win 10 (from 8.1) after months of failed upgrade attempts by MS. Don't think you're missing much so I wouldn't worry.

Worked for me but didn't work for my father's laptop. Had to use the media creation tool for that one but I managed to upgrade.

Cheers you two. Yeah, I'm fine with 8.1 for now. Just "impressed" that MS can't get something like this to work smoothly.

After years of using Microsoft operating systems I would be impressed if they made one that works without issues and not the opposite!

Sure, but as I've said above, I can't be bothered. I'm quite happy with 8.1, just thought I'd give it a go. Experience suggested that it would fail, and so it did. No sweat off my brow.

I'm planning on buying a new rig within the year anyway, VR and Pascal and all that, so the transition will come naturally.
