I'm sorry Wavey, but in my opinion you are suggesting a patchy "work around" that doesn't deal with the glaring problem at all. Why not just make it right? It's not too late.

I agree with you that the optimal solution is one single group, or to add it as a special PvE mode in the main game. But either they can't do it because of technical reasons or it requires too many development resources or they don't want to do it for reasons unknown to me. And by "they" I always refer to Frontier Dev, the problem comes from them, not Mobius and the rest of the team. E: D has many issues and shortcomings, add this one to the list.

While it's a shame to not meet up with so many people from the states (some of whom were really nice) I can see this makes a lot of sense and the upsides are much bigger than the downsides for me.

This is where ts or discord kicks in.
99.9999% of com goes through that and if you want to wing up with someone in the other group for cg/cz''s or whatever just join up in of your own private groups.
We have already been doing this already for as long as I remember for busy instances.

Anyone can start a group and if you are on voice com already getting a wing into a group together takes less than a minute.

Or at least a full PvE mode group option. Where the group admin can choose the option for full PvE.
No damage from Commander shots. No intradicting of other commanders. Ramming other commanders do no damage. Other form of griefing can still be dealt with by the admins on a case by case basis.

Not to worry, Charlie. Due to my weird work schedule I wing up most of the time with players from the UK, Greece, Belgium, Australia, etc. Although I am in the western US, I will be playing in Mobius PvE

STAHP confusing mee!

EU players will Remain in the MOBIUS group while the US player will play in the MOBIUS PVE group.

Frontier have also given us tools to make our group much more secure against undesirable players wanting to make a name for themselves and we have begun blocking user accounts of known players.
Each time these type of players make themselves known to us we will be able to add their account to our extensive blocked account list.

what we can take from this is that frontier will be watching closely to see how big we get, 20,000 was an eye opener for them and they know that the community is very much split between pvp and pve, I think that's why they are looking at crime and punishment a little more.

plus when we pass 30,000 frontier will have to think about a pve mode as a choice as that number is something that cant be ignored.

And if both groups reach 20k they will just have to do this again barring they fix the real issue.

That from what I gather is that this isn't a hard limit but more of "enough to make stuff break" case and I know from experience those are incredibly tricky to solve.

Well, I've sacrificed several Cutters for The Order in Exioce, and I'm in the US. I'd hate to see someone try and segregate the player faction like that, and I don't think that was CMDR Mobius' intention at all.

I am also in the USA and a supporter of the OoM. I wing with guys all over the globe in the war zones. OoM is certainly not exclusive to one private group or another.
