Hello Commanders,
this is a heads up that the forums will have a short downtime on Saturday, 31st of January 2015 from 11:00 am GMT to 1:00 pm GMT. We are giving the board a general overhaul and are upgrading the software.

Excellent job folks! Nice skin, nice feeling, I like it.
BTW Where did you get the header pictures from, taken somehow (without an external view mode) or taken from E:D official picture pools? Some seem to be from the pool at least.
Thanks for taking care of the forum!

Shiny.
(On my screen, the thread title repeat in each response is a little distorted - font-shadow setting? - but really effective overall and a big improvement. Thanks for all the work.)

Most were taken (by Mobius) during a meeting organized specifically for that purpose. When you look up in a Sidewinder or in a Clipper, you get a view without any cockpit elements. That's how they were made (Mobius flew a Clipper, that day).
Another way, if you play in a large resolution (I downsample from 2560x1600 so the screenshots are taken at that resolution) is to zoom in and crop the picture to remove the cockpit.
