And early look inside the cockpit of the Diamondback, Lakon's reasonably-priced combat-explorer vessel.

Interesting, I wonder if this means it'll be at a lower price point than the Asp?

Also "combat-explorer", now I wonder why you'd need an explorer that's combat ready?

They're coming...

Philip - you satisfied with DB's answer to your question? Its all still really vague to me, but I'm sure we will learn more soon.

I would think this means that, yes, it will be cheaper than the Asp, but it won't have a lot of room inside so it will be a poor trading vessel. But the idea of a fighting ship with a decent jump range entices me.

I'd use the vulture for exploring if it weren't for the jump range...

The Achilles heal in that ship is the range. The power Plant I can deal with without going crazy. 2 jumps of 15 ly with no scoopable stars and I start to sweat. Though if you stay in colonized space, it works ok. I regularly make a 150 ly run to cash bounties (which may change if Power Play makes it so i can't dock in Fed space).

I am really wanting to see what the Diamondback and the Courier are like when they arrive. That courier is even prettier than the clipper in my eyes. And that Diamondback looks like a Bad Rama-Jama if you know what I mean :) Like was said on the Forums, Better it be named Diamondback than NickelBack (As a Canadian, I apologize to the world, we don't like them either).

There's a solution for that.

Right Guard.

Joking aside, plot your route with "Fastest routes" selected. If you drop below 50% fuel, plot your route again but with "economical routes" selected. When you've filled up at a scoopable star, plot again with "fastest" etc.

Worked for me on a 200ly trip.

Already do that. Also stop and check all the close stars to scoop or land, but still sweat :)

I did about a 12k ly run in a Hauler about a month ago. Had to adjust my route a couple of the times, but no real issues. 10 million credits on that trip.

Im all about lakon ships, Asp is my current go to. Not sure why we technically need another explorer from lakon but ok. I think having less cargo capacity makes since, my guess is this wont be in the range of the eagle but between the federal drop ship and the asp
