I feel a lot better about the patch going to live now. It's great that they do consider feedback and think they made the right choice for now concerning the 10% stuff, looking forward to when they implement it addressing the various player concerns (mine included). Contrary to some peoples opinions, I don't like games being too easy, I just want them to be fair and fun. I'm also interested in seeing how they address PP factions competing with themselves.

I've been spending a lot more time reading than playing the last few days, was having a hard time motivating myself to play when so many large changes were looming. Now to refit a few ships when I get home, miss my Viper. :)

Some big welcome improvements here

Reputation Decay
The reputation decay down from 'Allied' only applies to Major Factions - and as long as you gain some reputation with a Minor Faction then it doesn't decay.
- based on this should be fairly easy to keep rep up

10% Module Sell Cost
So some news - we will be reversing this change shortly (or 'soonTM' as Michael B would say...), so to be clear this aspect will be as it was before in the public release.
- I wasn't overly bothered by this, but nice they listened

Diamondback Explorer
Yes. There are two Diamondbacks. The Diamondback Explorer is the ship we showed in concept art back in April
- Yay

PP Teamwork
We are taking comments like this very seriously. There are arguments either way, but the intention is that you are part of a team, so there is a change coming that should fix this...
- this is the most interesting, and may just make PP what it should be i.e. working together to help your power

This all looks great, PP is now shaping up to be a much better expansion now

I am very much enthused by the attention that Frontier invests in paying to the players and the community. It would appear that feedback is honestly weighed and evaluated, and that the developers try to come up with a balance between the desires of the community and their own vision for what Elite: Dangerous should/will be.

This whole process has been rather heartening to witness. :D

Agreed, it does feel like FD want the community to be part of the development of ED. Yes FD have their vision, and not everyone will agree with that which is only to be expected, but they do listen to consensus and seem to take the views of players seriously.

Of course some people will never be happy, like those in one breath complaining that the module size in the DB Explorer will make fuel scooping too slow, and then in the next breath complaining that people are rushing around the galaxy and finding new stuff too quickly.

Having played online games for years, official forums do seem to bring out the worst sort of 'armchair games developers', I'm just glad that FD seem to be able to see through the dross and pick up on the real issues...

Never played an online game before......

And I must admit It has opened my eyes to exactly how many wankers there are out there expecting a game to be crafted the way they want to play it......

Believe me, the ED Forum is mild compared to a lot of them [shudder]

By example, there is a game called Skyrim (great RPG by the way), one of the draws of it was player mods via steam, people could create anything from new weapons all the way up to expansion size content, all for other player to use completely free. I remember was a couple of people created a player house, it had everything, loads of rooms, stuff outside, NPCs you could hire, working items, really really good work, it must have taken them months, and people complained, went on about this could be better or it should have this and that, not constructive suggestions, complaints and quite nasty ones... it beggars belief, it really does :x
