its to sell skins, its a interesting marketing ploy and I imagine that they have made many ££££, but remember its all helping to fund and ensure that elite doesn't sink, let hope that they don't introduce limited edition ship variants.

I really don't mind to support frontier more than I have.
But I don't se the point with ship skins as I cant se it my self, unless I am not docked and in the outfit market.
Ship skins atm is more or less a fidget of my imagination.
Ship skins would be a much better profit for them if they let us to se our ship from a third person view.

We all love to admire our self in front of a mirror :D same goes for a game. we want to se our ship we are controlling.

if things goes financial bad with frontier for the expansions etc, I am sure we can always start a new kickstarter to help them out.
But I don't think they have financial issues and wont have any after release of ED.
Frontier is a company that do more games and other contributions than just ED. And they have been around for a long time now :)

I remember I joined their forum 2006 in hope of a sequel of Elite. Even at that time David talked about his dream of a sequel and to make it multiplayer. But they had other projects and it was first when the kickstarter rose up it could be a reality.
So ED have been planned for a very long time and it have been a work the devs done on their sparetime. many things we se or will se is a result of their work from the past.
Lots of people say they cant deliver the game in time but they don't know how long they actually have developed it. Long before the kickstarter even started. :)

Beta 2 is a big step in content. And it just show that a lot of things going around have been developed already from the past.

Youtube BBCode works like this:
instead of posting the URL with or without the URL BBCode

Code: Select all

[url]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4aCsz92tJM[/url]

you just put the video-id into the youtube BBCode like this:

Code: Select all

[youtube]A4aCsz92tJM[/youtube]

And Voila:
