I guess you've wandered over to the official forums...
Oh dear.
Must say though that I went straight there after reading the newsletter just to figure out when 3.06-07-&08 were supposed to be coming. And also to see if my concerns were well placed (I assume you've all read between the lines). It seems so.
Can anyone find anything reassuring from this? I'm starting to get disheartened. I'm not going to put a bullet point list of negatives here. Why should I bring anyone else down with me? Just hoping that someone can highlight some positive points from the newsletter to give me a 'leg up'.

Positive points:
More ships
25% insurance discount
Working on getting out of the chair
Doesn't outweigh the negative, but at least it's something.

Cheers, Gazzareth.
Just took the Viper for a spin. Got to Azeban Orbital and I ended up grinning from ear to ear. The sight was breath taking. It must have been the timing of the orbit but the lighting was fantastic. I just blatted around taking screen shots.

There are a lot of extremely pissed off people on the main forum over the casual announcement about offline mode being canned at this late stage. Threats of refunds, legal action and all sorts of shenanigans. The main arguments that I can see are:
1. My internet connection is crap/unreliable
2. What happens when the servers are down?
3. What happens when/if Frontier close or stop supporting the game?
4. I backed mainly because of the offline mode...I've been lied to/trust broken, etc
It also appears that a lot of the features described in the DDF that are currently missing from the game aren't going to be miraculously added to the game at gamma. Consider me not shocked. Hopefully, we'll see them added before too long, but I hate to say it's a bit deflating at the moment.

I think that FD arnt handling this at all well. As soon as there was a doubt about offline being feasible the developers should have said something. All this does is stir up FUD.

Another stonking piece of PR from Frontier
This worries me greatly for a whole gammut of reasons. Firstly I've been advising folk on other forums and my friends that there will be an offline mode and now, well there won't and that makes me look like a liar. It also gives people the impression of a classic bait and switch. I fully understand why people are very angry
Secondly this whole thing smacks of rushing out the game to hit the Christmas market, not putting out the game because it is finished. It looks like a load of features won't be in the game that was promised and that's pretty bad from a PR point of view. Yet again Frontier have managed to cause a storm where really it could have all been avoided.
Worrying times but I'm still hopeful that in the end they will pull it off and release a great game......eventually.
