I took my first Cobra III to the Heart and Soul nebula, with a few other nebula's visited on the way and visited the S171 stars on the way back.
I didn't fly a straight route, to obtain more 1st discovered and made near 50 million CR's when I got back.
It is not the fastest way to make CR's. but it suits the ship and as exploring will likely become more dangerous in the future, now is a good time.

I have only played 5 ships but the I like this ship a LOT,

I just did a similar thing last night on the CG to Deliver Ceremonial Heike Tea a 311ly trip for 10tons max run only...

I took a 59 honking jump scenic route back to Heike and made over 300,000 for about 50 min of game time and that pushed me to "Pilot's exploration rank: Surveyor". That is fair money for a noob like me.

The Cobra MKIII got me hooked to Elite. As you can see, her picture is the one in my Avatar photo.
I sold Flamestrike to get my Python. But once I could afford it, I got another A-spec'd Cobra. Don't use Agni much. Just take her out for fun whenever I feel like it.

Cobras are awesome starter ships. There's nothing a cobra can't do. I got my first million in a Cobra mk3 and I made another 60mil by smuggling tons and tons of stuff to afford the python. Here's a screenshot from my first exploration run around the bubble

very nice shot I like the sun light reflecting off of the ship.

I made my first million in my Viper III, but now my Cobra III is just so much fun, I just can't sell her yet.
