Evening,

I am Xorr, stumbled across this group on the FD forums and suits me perfectly, thank-you to the creator.

I'm 42, from the UK. I played the original on the Acorn, and I joined Elite Dangerous in alpha. I haven't put many hours in to date, I have been more of a tester than a player through these phases, as I try to hold back until proper release. That said, beta 3 I am enjoying a great deal.
I have a rich and varied gaming history, but I do really feel ED is something quite special that doesn't come along very often, and I'm enormously proud that it is being developed 'just up the road' from me, right here in the UK.

I'm cmdr Henry Dorsett Case in game. I started my elite career with Frontier on the A1200. I only started playing ED at the end om beta 2 as I had to get the HW nesessary first. Currently working at getting rid of that Harmless status, but need to trade to afford the upgrades.

But market just refreshed making the last superconductor i need available, so I gotta fly.

I loved my A1200, with Blizzard acceleration. Was it 33 Hz?... I can't recall... Frontier blew me away.

Commodore 64 Elite and Space Rogue to Elite: Dangerous
via FE2 on 386SX 16Mhz (DOS 5.0) & 486DX 25MHz (later upgraded to 66 MHz, DOS 6.2 & Win 3.11)
and FFE on Pentium 133 MHz (& MMX 200 MHz & PII 400 MHz & finally PIII 500 MHz & Geforce 256 - all these post P133 PCs built from second hand parts, DOS 6.22 & Win 3.11 to 98 )
and Oolite on WinXP (Core2Duo E6600 & Geforce GT 7950, that PC upgraded to E7600 & Ati HD 3870 and later GTS 450, now retired for the kids to play with)

Chose PvE because I want to keep away from the PEWPEWLAZORRZ & instakillah UsuckUnoob -types, but still love the idea of meeting other people out there.

Lately I've seen several CMDRs when playing in this group. Not very talkative bunch, eh? (at least on ingame text comms)

I like to hail/text chat, but it is a rare occurrence. I sometimes miss a hail myself. They seem to get lost in the general comms chatter.
