CMDR GROKERY

Postby grokery » Sun Jun 12, 2016 9:36 pm

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all doing great. I'm a software engineer, living in Portland, Oregon, USA originally from the UK though. I enjoyed many happy hours with Elite on my 128k spectrum when I was a kid and since then I've always dreamed of playing a multiplayer space exploration game.

I purchased Elite Dangerous on the PC nearly on launch, but with work commitments and things I haven't managed to progress or play as much as I'd like. Currently have a Cobra MK3, which I've stripped of everything and stuffed with as many cargo modules as I can, so that I can start to try and make some credits hauling freight. Which is going ok, but it would be great to have friendly folks to chat to as I'm trucking along.

Apart from Elite, I love all sorts of board games, painting miniatures and writing code.

I have always tended to just lurk around and play solo in the past, but it seems like it would be a shame to miss out on the opportunity to make some new friends, so here I am.

I've signed up for the Mobius PvE group, just pending approval, hopefully chat soon.

Greetings and welcome to Mobius, Commander grokery

Please feel free to add your name to one of our 'In game friends lists'

In game friends list for PC
In game friends list for XBox US
In game friends list for XBox EU

and check out our TeamSpeak servers to easily chat with, and possibly wing up with other commanders.

Also, make sure to check the Policy page if you haven't already Image.

On top of all of that, we also have a Facebook group and Twitter feed.

There is a lot of great info on the message board, and we have compiled a long list of Tips and Tricks to help new players acclimatize to the game while having fun.

Finally, if you are interested in being involved, go here to see information about our player group faction, the Order of Mobius (based at Rafferty's Mobius station in the Azrael system). We have our own Discord (voice and text chat) servers for supporters of Mobius, as well as our own Order of Mobius Twitter feed.

Please make sure you have read the Mobius GroupPolicy

Welcome to the group, commander Grokery.

I am a fellow American, residing in sunny Arizona. 8-)

Feel free to add me to your in-game friends list. I do some A-B-A trade runs during the week after work and mostly BB missions and 'what have you' on the weekend if you want to wing up or chat.

Welcome to ElitePVE, CMDR!

Just a quick tip. If you group up with a power trader, the resulting credit wing payout can get you into a nicer ship rather fast. Just an idea.

If you need help with something, feel free to ask. EPVE is a really friendly place to play.

Safe travels, and all the best!

Hi there and welcome CMDR Grokery,

Same here. Played solo or just private group with my brother but needed to see other people for a change and not get pew pewed away right away, and Mobius is the right place.

Feel free to add me in game, chat away in game or on Discord Mobius !

Great tips, and thank you everyone for the warm welcome, looking forward to chatting with everyone in game.

Nice to see that this is a friendly place for everyone to enjoy the social aspect of the game without getting griefed. I played Eve for a while but that game can be pretty toxic, part of it's appeal I guess, but it can get taken a little too far.

Cheers, I'm sure I'll have lots of questions!
