Hello new commander checking in.
I've been playing for a few weeks now, and haven't figured out everything yet.
I started doing some exploration and I kind of dig that. Currently trying out the conflict zones in Wolf 406, and hoping to get in the Jaegers. But I think I am doing something wrong with the conflict zones, because when I enter them I can't choose a faction. (or I don't know how to choose.....) I then start shooting one of the factions, but I don't receive any credits for taking them out. So what's wrong there?
Anyway, nice to meet you all and see you out in the black. (I hope)

Welcome, Commander!

When you enter a conflict zone, open your right panel and go to the last tab, Functions. The first item in the list, there, will be Faction. Select that and you'll be given the choice between the two factions in conflict. Have fun and good luck! :)

Hi everyone. I'm CMDR Randy Giles. My name is from the Buffy episode Tabula Rasa where Spike assumes the identity of Giles' son.

I'm 45 and first played Elite on the speccy, though not seriously until the Atari ST version a few years later. I played Frontier on the Amiga for many years. I love Elite: Dangerous. I am currently saving up for a pimped up Asp, flying a Type 6. I have tried everything except piracy and smuggling. I really didn't like mining. I mined 1 ton of something and decided not to do it again. I like flitting between bounty hunting, trading and exploring. I'm currently around Lave or thereabouts making money for my Asp :)

Hello.

Somewhat belated introduction since I joined Mobius a month ago and have been playing in group mode ever since. In all that time I have only ever seen two other human players! I suspect this is a time zone thing since I am in New Zealand. The first time I saw a human player I was so surprised I forgot how to open comms and by the time I had worked it out he/she was gone. The second time I emerged from a station just in time to see a human player enter SC. Oh well, I'll keep in Mobius on the off-chance.

I'm from the class of '84 (C64 > C128 > Amiga 1k > 2k > 4k). In recent years I've tried a few space sims to try and recapture the Elite feeling but didn't enjoy any of them and had concluded that I had grown out of games. Then I read that E: D had been released and bought it for old times sake. Have enjoyed it a lot, although I'm currently struggling to enjoy the silly number of NPC interdictions since 1.1.

Currently trading rares in an expensively outfitted Cobra. Have made "surveyor" in exploring and "merchant" in trading but still only "harmless"! Despite a number of near misses I've only died twice though. Once in the Sidewinder when I accidentally engaged boost inside a station (unbound that joystick button pretty quickly after that) and once in combat due to a collision. Once I've build up a reasonable mount of money I will try combat again but for the moment it's interdict > submit > run away every time.

Greetings! CMDR Andalyn here. I mostly play in SOLO mode but would love to play with other humans... without worrying about griefers, etc. Looking forward to being able to interact with others without fear.

CMDR Kilton signing on!

I never played the original Elite but have always been fascinated by space games far more than fantasy (which everyone seems to be doing these days), so with E:D and Star Citizen (and No Man's Sky and the rest), I am looking forward to a golden age of space-based games!

I jumped onto E:D for two reasons: it's out, and the Mobius group. I've been playing WoW for most of it's life and my one regret is playing on a PvP server. I am so sick of other people choosing to ruin my fun and game-time that I'll never play a game that supports such griefing again. Were E:D only Open mode, I doubt I'd be playing it for that very reason.

So thanks for this, for a safe environment to play with others! See you all in Space!
