Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

Hello, Mobius PvE people

I was just curb stomped by a wing of pvp'ers while trying out configurations of a Cobra, and I thought to myself, "Self, that sucked. We don't want to play a game where a group of four Vipers can enter into a light conflict zone and tear me apart before I can jump.... but I do like that idea of playing in a wing... that's good stuff there." So I googled, Elite Dangerous PvE and Mobius popped up. So I am:

Feral Erik in game. I have a Type 9 money maker and currently flying about in a refurbished Cobra in Lugh space. I also have a A-type Viper parked in Sol (back up for when I lose it all being idiotic).

Let me know if you want to wing up - I am looking forward to playing cooperatively without having my head on a swivel worrying about drive-by shootings.

I am in Canada most of the time in meat-space.

How do we muster inside the game to form wings? I have joined the Mobius Private Group and started playing, but it seems very similar to Solo play at the moment without knowing how to form up with like minded spacers... Forgive the nubery, but I know I am missing some simple element that will cure me forever of my ignorance.

You have to be invited to join a wing. Or you invite others to join you in a wing.

I had a strange experience with Wings this afternoon (Aussie time). I was a member of a Wing, but I could not see them in the game, and they could not see me. It was like I could not join their "instance". I wonder if it had something to do with the way the server tries to place you with people closer to location (in the real world). I am in Australia, they are in the USA.

@Feral Erik. It might help if you add members of Mobius to you friends list, that way if they are online, you can contact them and arrange to meet up in System XYZ. Then you can form your wing once they are all there.

The all important Friending step.... the missing link! Appreciate the prompt feedback. Servers are down at the moment, but I will start sending out Friend Requests when I get back in.
