Hey Everyone.

I am CMDR -Jericho-, I joined Mobius a couple days ago and I'm looking forward to seeing you all out amongst the stars.

I'm mostly a loner, but I will always say hi and will certainly help another CMDR whenever needed.
I'm an Oculus user, so if it seems that I'm slow at typing its because I can't see my keyboard.

I haven't decided which faction to back yet (the Imperial Clipper is a sexy looking ship tho!.... but that slavery....) and am mostly just BH for the independent systems and doing some trade runs.

FWIW, slavery in the Empire is always voluntary (people who end up broke find honorable to sell themselves in slavery until they've paid their debts, at which point they are released from slavery). Also children born from slave parents are free.

Slavery in the Federation, OTOH, is the good old forced slavery where you just abduct people and sell them. There, children born in slavery are slaves too.

Yes, thanks, I appreciate the distinction between the two types of slaves. Honestly, I like the idea of the Imperials in this game; Honor, Justice, Fight the Feds, etc.... and the ships are cool looking .... what makes me hesitate to support them is simply the name: 'Imperials'.
For me it invokes images of a Sith Lords and Storm Troopers.

I am an old SWG player, where it was Rebels vs Imperials. There were greifers on both sides, don't get me wrong, but it was my observation that there were many more on the Imperial team. (There's something about dressing up as a Storm Trooper that brings out the best in people, I guess..... )

I know I should adapt my perspective to this universe, this is a different game and a different Empire, but I simply have a hard time counting in as an 'Imperial'.

And yes, don't be afraid to get involved with Imperial Slavery as it is good for the market and those slaves do it for a future willingly, like indentured labor - they get to travel to another system and live in the new lands by paying for their passage for some number of years of servitude and lodging and meals are paid (even if perhaps not always great). They earn their keep until such a time as they can be freed in the "new world". Now the other Fed underground slave trade by kidnapping and torture on the other hand very bad and should be fought against with swift Imperial Justice!
