Ladies and gents, greetings.. 
Well, I took the plunge... I remember getting very excited when ED was first announced, yet somehow I never found the time or inclination to jump in.. until about 2 weeks ago.
Being an all or nothing kind of guy I'm now crashing around the galaxy using a shiny new X55 hotas.. my missus believes its ridiculous and has advised that when her parents visit she expects me to hide it... I told her not to be so silly, surely her parents should be thrilled at the thought of an intrepid astronaut as a suitor for their beloved daughter.
So, pretty new, managed to get griefed / ganked within about 30 minutes of starting up on 'Open play' > I don't mind that as such (I did spend a couple of years as a low-sec pirate in eve online..what goes around comes around!) but it did make me think I should probably play in a safer environment until I've learnt my elbow from my ..
Anyway loving the game so far, went from the Sidewinder to a Cobra, did a little rare trading, some illicit cargo smuggling and a some bounty hunting at Nav's then decided I wanted some money! So I've upped to a type-6 and i'm currently testing my sanity and perseverance trading... I don't like trading.
The good news is I've nearly made enough money to get out of it, and I shall not be getting into a type 7 as much sense as that would make!
