Welcome Fyryosa, and oddly enough the adder is one of the ships I haven't spent much time in..
I guess we might as well start with an impromptu but not strictly enforced rule of thumb.

There is a lot of info on the message board, and if you haven't spent a lot of time in the game yet (and even if you have), this Tips and Tricks for new players thread has a TON of great info!
