Hello fellow commanders, I'm a 40 years old Portuguese web programmer who have just picked up this game (2 weeks or so).
Having played (what I consider some of the best) space gems like WC IV, Freelancer or X-3 Reunion, I was very much put down by the constant spinning and terrible flying I was doing in the first 2 days of trying to learn just to shoot and fly into a docking area in this game (using mouse and keyboard). Don't get me wrong, I still suck, but I'm getting a little better :).

I found out about this group and thoght this could be my kind of place, to have fun in a nice populated environment free of PK's (even if on open play I have yet to see another player, but I didn't actually venture much far from where I started).

I hope to see at least some of you guys in space :)

Welcome to Mobius, commander Trylon!

As you've found, the learning curve in E-D is a little rough at first. Hang in there.... it gets much easier!

Feel free to add your name to the In game friend list thread and check out our TeamSpeak servers to easily chat with, and possibly wing up with other commanders. Also, make sure to check the Policy page if you haven't already.

There is a lot of great info on the message board, and we have compiled a long list of Tips and Tricks to help new players acclimate to the game while having fun.
