CMDR Myshka; drifting in space

Greetings fellow Commanders!

Having amassed the grand fortune of 9 MCr, I'm about to fulfill my dream of exploring this grand galaxy of ours. So before I head off beyond the Bubble I've decided to say hello to my fellow Travellers out here in the Dark.

I'm on my third ship (well, err, 6th, really..), the Good Ship Courageous (II), a second-hand, but well-cared-for, Cobra MkIII, which I picked up cheap on my way to Kaushpoos. I'm currently refitting her for exploration after having spent the last few days delivering Computer Components to Kaushpoos, for quite an acceptable remuneration.

May you always reach a safe port,
- CMDR Myshka.

----

So yeah, only picked up the game a week or two ago; 60-odd hours in, and proud owner of 3 ships (couldn't quite bring myself to trade them in..). So far I've only played Solo (absolutely no interest in dealing with griefers) but quite like this idea of a PvE group, so going to try it out.

Is it just me, or are Credits way too easy to earn in the game? I mean, I partially role-played my way along, so hardly grinding for max profits, and I still ended up with a partially kitted out Cobra MkIII in about 40 hours. Even without the significant payouts at Kaushpoos (nearly 8MCr for me) it wouldn't have taken me much longer to earn enough for an Advanced Discovery Scanner.

Cheers, and hope to bump into some of you out in the Lanes.
- Micha.

It is just you. :)
Or maybe the more plausible explanation could be that I'm not very good at earning cr

Anyway, welcome!

It is relatively easy to earn credits.
(from the person gaining 100MCr in ~12 hours)

Welcome to Mobius, commander Myshka! :)

Glad that you're enjoying your first few weeks in E-D. The learning curve can be steep, so feel free to ask questions. ;)

Feel free to add your name to the In game friend list thread and check out our TeamSpeak servers to easily chat with, and possibly wing up with other commanders. Also, make sure to check the Policy page if you haven't already.

There is a lot of great info on the message board, and we have compiled a long list of Tips and Tricks to help new players acclimate to the game while having fun.

Thanks for the welcome, guys, and the links :) Unfortunately I won't get time to play again until Sunday now, but hopefully see some of you online then!

Oh, just another piece of background; I've been playing Elite since the 19080's... started off on the good old C64. Also played Frontier and FFE, although not much; really didn't like the flight model, although I spent hours flying around the galaxy and getting myself into orbit around interesting planets.

So learning curve isn't really that big for me, at least, not for the basics. I'm not really interested in optimising for a combat build; nor, for that matter, for an explorer or trader build. I like my multi-role Cobby :)

Cheers,
- Micha.

WHOA Marty, I mean Micha :) You have come from our Future to your past to play a game set in your past/our future? And they found the Top Secret Plans for the C64 that were buried in a time capsule no doubt! Awesome!

All kidding aside, Welcome and hope to see you in game some time. I am usually the one furiously boosting into a station with silent running on trying to beat the police scans, and usually smacking something/someone in the process.
