Regarding easy pirate kills, I would recommend trying the Nav Beacon at most (if not all) systems. There will be some clean and some wanted ships going through there, and you'll most likely find some smaller ships that your Sidie can take out without too much trouble.
Also, if you make you way to our home system of Azrael (or least least within 50-70ly of it) you'll find many commanders to wing up with. I would be happy to wing with you myself to gain you some credits in combat. Feel free to add me to your in game friends list if you want to.
