CMDR DelayedReaction reporting for duty... eventually.

Hi guys and gals.

Old fan of Elite from back in '84 (I was only 4 years old and couldn't get on with the game back then lol   ) kept coming back to it time and time again, dying on the first station dock and giving it up as a bad job. 32 years later (yikes I really feel old now) I finally have an Elite game i'm able to get on with lol

I bought ED 12 days ago and haven't played anything else since, including the division and I was seriously getting into that. Loving ED so much that I just took delivery of a Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X so i'm about to have a lot of fun getting used to it after i'd got so used to the xbox360 controller so... wish me luck lol.

I generally work ~45 hours p/w and i'm in EU timezone, although because I don't finish work until 10pm most if not all evenings I am generally online until around one of the midnights in America :p

I am just setting TS up so will jump on momentarily and see if anyone is around :)

Greetings and welcome to Mobius, Commander DelayedRaction.

You'll love the Hotas.... once you settle in on a configuration that you like and the muscle memory kicks in. (It took a while at my age)

Please feel free to add your name to the In game friends list thread, and check out our TeamSpeak servers to easily chat with, and possibly wing up with other commanders.

Also, make sure to check the Policy page if you haven't already.

On top of all of that, we also have a Facebook group and Twitter feed.

There is a lot of great info on the message board, and we have compiled a long list of Tips and Tricks to help new players acclimatize to the game while having fun.

Finally, if you are interested in being involved, go here to see information about our player group faction, the Order of Mobius. We have our own Discord (voice and text chat) servers for supporters of Mobius, as well as our own Order of Mobius Twitter feed.

well so far, 8 hours after opening the HOTAS, I've still only done the tutorial a few times as I've been having major issues getting it set up properly :( then I find myself needing about another 8 or 9 buttons :P

Ah yes, I know those problems, the T.Flight is a great HOTAS for the price but is somewhat button light, as for set-up, the mistake I made when I first got a HOTAS was having the controls set to left and right rather than axis, took me ages to work out why yaw steering seemed to be all or nothing :P

Hi DR,

If you are still flying around the starter areas I can join you if you want.
I play EU times so feel free to add me . I have the same in game name.

I had a nightmare trying to sort out and remember all the keys.
Until I found out about the voice packs you can buy for the game (£10 each). They need voice attack use which also costs money (£ 5)
The big plus from these packs is that they are voice macros , you use your voice instead or in combination with keyboard/hotas
For me they made the game a lot more manageable and enjoyable a well spent £15

Have a look on these forums and for the vids on you tube

hey chemtrail,

funnily enough I have voiceattack and the ASTRA sound pack but I don't have it turned on when i'm on TS as I don't have PTT set as I don't have a spare button for it :P

I got your friend request today but I have just woken up after ~18 hours asleep at my keyboard (36 hours playing ED straight :/)

I have finally got the hang of the HOTAS though, just a few commands I need to remind myself of a couple of times as I don't use them all that often.

I used button combos in my T Flight Hotas. That way it had more than enough buttons

Welcome to Mobius, see you out there Commander.
