Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

Hi All
This is my first post in this group although I've been a member for quite a while, got tired of the PVP silliness in solo. When I dont wish to fight I woud like that respected but it doesnt happen in solo, u end up destroying another players ship or getting your own destroyed.

So been doing a CG in Mobius and got attacked by another Cmdr (forgot to F10) but in this case ran away, successfully. However it occurred to me, do the policy rules allow one to fight another Cmdr (outside a CZ) if that Cmdr has attacked me first? ie Am I allowed to defend myself or must the response always be to run away to prevent a possible ban. My natural reaction is to fight if its strategically possible.

I am part of a minority tribe Y Cymry (The Welsh) hence the Python name, but live in the UK Lake District so UTC (+ 1 ATM). I'm a v low hours RW pilot flying C150/C172 out of EGNH (really appreciate Frontier giving us plane controls, but its quite fun to fly FA off at times something u can't do in a C150)

I'm a bit confused with all the different channels / rooms on the Elite PVE teamspeak server can a wing or group just use rooms that r empty? Very grateful for the facility if so.

Personally I would consider them attacking you as a big time consent to being shot at.
But that's me.

the problem here is that you can bet your last cent that those who gatecrash mobius to attack other cmdrs do so with shaddowplay or other recording software running, when you attack them, even in self defence they will send in the screen shot and the admin team will then have no choice but to ban you from the group. in this we have to take a zero tolerance approach as if we didn't the gatecrashers would game it to their advantage.

the best advice is that if you are attacked by another cmdr in the group then high wake out of the area to come back in solo, take screen shots for a report to the admin team via this forum and ignore them. don't post on this forum, don't post on the FD forums - just make a report and nothing else.

posting about it is exactly what they want, the more publicity they get the happier they are so after one of these incidents silence is the best response.

But what if they attack you, you attack back and they screenshot and report. Who gets banned then?

I find it best to try not to target (or even play close to) hollow squares and triangles.

The one time I *might* have been attacked by a CMDR, I did stow and go. Pretty sure that's what I'd still do if I could. Although I agree that this is contrary to my natural instinct to give as good as I get. But I enjoy the group and don't want to get banned, so it's a choice I have to make.

Thanx for the replies, however I know of friends who even in a Conda have been attacked by wings and have not been able to run away in time, losing the rebuy on a Conda is not a small thing. One cannot always outrun a persistent wing of interdictions especially if one of the wing is waiting in SC. I do feel self defence should be a an allowable defence agains a ban somehow especially if u hav a screenshot to bac it up.

if all screenshots were timestamped with the in game time that may be considered but without it if we are presented with a screen shot from each cmdr showing the other firing at them who can say who fired first? we would have no way of telling and would therefore have no option but to ban both of you.
