I just realised I haven't told anyone about myself.
I started off as a smu... ahem... aspiring trader out of Eranin, delivering much needed alcoholic refreshments from our esteemed breweries into the Federation. I worked the skyways and the byways in first my Sidewinder before purchasing a brand new hauler as funds permitted.
Then the civil war hit. It was terrible. The night skies of Eranin were lit with the burning wreckage of a thousand ships, lives of whose pilots that should have been coming into their prime were cut short by the backstabbing Federalist slime who wanted to take Eranin away from us.
Although the Federation never said a word, the sheer number of casualties we took could only mean one thing: They had backing from the Federation.
Did we let them take our homeworld away from us? No! We fought back, and hard! With the rather conspicious and undoubtedly self-serving aid of Falcon De Lacy who provided many refurbished ships for us at a knockdown price, we were able to drive them back and keep control of Eranin.
With the compensation I received from the war, added to what I had earned in my hauler, I bought my first serious vessel, the Type 6 and followed that up with an Asp a while later, initially to move on to bigger and better trades. But I was burned out by the war and by the pressure of meeting the severe deadlines and repetitive demands of my clients. I needed a break, and so one day, I just had my Asp refit and headed out into the night.
At first I wandered randomly, seeking purpose and direction. But an image in my mind gelled. I did not want to go back to the bubble. Instead, I turned my ship coreward and set sail for Sag A*. I was out there for nearly six months, and not another soul did I see!
This epic adventure and the equally epic funds allowed me to outfit my own fleet of ships: Ships needed for protection and for trading, and just a year and a half later I was battling Emperor's Dawn in a Corvette and a Fer De Lance at Chi'Lin for the very forces I had fought against back home: the Fedaration.
Disgusted with what I had become, realizing that I had let myself be brainwashed by the sly Federals, I pulled myself out and moved base to the Pilot's Federation independent homeworld, of Shinrarta Dezhra which is where I am still based today.
Becoming somewhat of a recluse, I no longer trade other than to keep my coffers afloat, nor do I get involved in Factional politics other than to help repel Federal and Empire moves on independent systems.
As such, I find myself back where it all began in my Sidewinder (I still have the very first one I ever flew back in Eranin, a bit dinged up and with more patches than a quitting tobacco addict but never destroyed) and enjoying every minute of my newfound freedom.
May your weapons capacitors never run dry, Commanders.
