I know who I am...

:D so, the name might be daunting, but it's simply tongue in cheek and what my old bf 1942 clan called me. I'm Todd, a 52 year old construction foreman from kansas city, but I work all over the country. Been married 34 years so I'm severely undersexed if you don't count my hands, I am BRAND NEW to the game. Look up noob in the dictionary and you'll see my ugly mug, but I'm really enjoying docking like a drunk otis from the andy griffith show, and running out of fuel on more then one occassion. I used to be a huge wow player, but I've always loved space sims, and this one caught my eye...atm, Im keyboard mousing but I've got my eye on a couple joysticks...just gotta train my hands to grab them and not stroke them...it s a struggle, but this is who I am...I'm self deprecating, have a blue sense of humor I attribute to my time in the marines. So if this little diatribe gave you more insight then you wanted, let me know...I do have a muzzle...my wife keeps it next to her whips, chains and strap on...I am very serious about wanting to be a part of the group and learn the game so I can become a contributing member to it when I'm not dying from lack of oxygen...hope to hear from you all soon.

Greetings and welcome to Mobius, Commander grumpyoldbastard. Very colorful intro, indeed.

The learning curve in E-D is quite steep, so be sure to ask a lot of questions.

Please feel free to add your name to one of our 'In game friends lists'

In game friends list for PC
Xbox EU and Xbox US

and check out our TeamSpeak servers or Discord (voice and text chat) servers to easily chat with, and possibly wing up with other commanders.

Also, make sure to check the Policy page if you haven't already Image.

On top of all of that, we also have a Facebook group and Twitter feed.

There is a lot of great info on the message board, and we have compiled a long list of Tips and Tricks to help new players acclimatize to the game while having fun.

Finally, if you are interested in being involved, go here to see information about our player group faction, the Order of Mobius (based at Rafferty's Mobius station in the Azrael system). We have our own Order of Mobius Twitter feed.

Welcome aboard Commander.

The learning curve is steep, but stick with it and you will be rewarded in spades. :)

I can highly recommend an entry level hotas for E: D. The Thrustmaster Hotas X comes highly recommended at the price:

https://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-T-F ... er+hotas+x

What some don't realise is that it comes apart too, so you can have it on either side of your keyboard.

Fly safe

I can wholeheartedly vouch for this HOTAS. As well as the awesome feature of coming apart, theres a dial on the bottom of the stick that increases or decreases tension.

Welcome Grumpy Old Bastard :) Reminds me of a program on TV I used to like, called Grumpy Old Men, where a group of well-known (but old) guys would give there opinions on things nowadays (like "Baby on Board" stickers etc. You can probably imagine about how it went!

I'm new-ish too, but learning fast. I'm enjoying the trading and missions and helping out. I haven't really learned how to fight yet, but I think I will soon. I probably won't be able to help you much, but I'll sympathise if you run out of fuel. I've been close a couple of times, but it hasn't happened yet.

Hope to see you in the game.
