Good day fellow Commanders,

I'm fairly new to the Elite universe, just picked up the game during its last Steam sale. I've known of Elite for a while, but after going for quite while without a decent space sim decided to pick it up and give a go. At the moment I've logged about 24 hours of game time and through the recent community events in Slink's Eye got enough credits to get up to the Asp Explorer which is currently still be refitted with better equipment when the credits can be spared. Currently my aim is to level up Empire rep and get access to the Gutamaya ships; if anyone has any guidance how best to go about that it would be appreciated (i.e. specific trade runs, etc...).

So far I've only played in solo, but through some research I came across Mobius. PvE appeals to me way more than PvP. Mostly I'd say it's about the loss of time/progress in PvP that makes it unappealing and some of the players that can ruin the gaming experience. I'll start playing on Mobius within the next few days, whenever I have time to be on for a while.

Some of my gaming history with space sims and the like (alphabetical order),
DarkStar One
Earth & Beyond – first MMO played
EVE Online – second MMO, only played from about 1 year
Freelancer
Hardwar
Hellbender – first "space" sim ever played, came with a joystick that was purchased for Flight Sim 98
Homeworld 1, Cata, and 2
Independence War 1 and 2
Kerbal Space Program
Nexus: The Jupiter Incident
Privateer 2: The Darkening
Star Trek – played a lot of them
Star Wars – played a lot of them
Stellaris
Strike Suit Zero
Wing Commander: Prophecy – first WC game played, have played through some of the older ones since

The list could be quite a bit longer if I listed every single game I could recall, especially if I listed every Star Trek and Star Wars game I've played.

As for current controls, using the mouse and keyboard, but that may change when Logitech/Saitek release a new HOTAS.

I’m looking forward to playing with like-minded PvEers. Mobius seems like it will be an enjoyable experience for Elite.

Fly safe and perhaps I'll meet you somewhere in the galaxy.

EDIT: Fixing a spelling error.
