Hello, Ash here, or CMDR Ashirah when I'm flying. I'm from Asia and usually play around 1700 to 0000 hours. (GMT +8).
The last space sim game I played was Freelancer. I backed Star Citizen but never actually got into it (No idea how to fly, felt intimidated). But the newest SP gameplay video was amazing though! Mark Hamill was so cool!
Been playing a lot of Warframe but I suddenly had the itch for a space sim but I couldn't find any that could satisfy the itch.
Bought Elite Dangerous on Christmas eve, booted it up, saw the huds and menus while on my ship in the docking bag, got freaked out, deleted the game and asked for a refund.
During Christmas, I watched a whole bunch of videos on ED for beginners, saw the Holo-Me customization (I will admit, Holo-me was a big factor in convincing me to give this game a try again). So 2 days after Christmas, I bought the Deluxe edition with Horizon DLC, printed out a keyboard layout I found online, tweaked my controls & I was well on my way! 5 hours in and I'm having fun (I think?).
Heck, I even bought a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro stick. Waiting for it to arrive in the mail as we speak.
See you in the cold embrace of space CMDRs o7
