Exploring in the new Horizon

Hello Commanders,
I recently got back from a short exploration trip to the Heart and Soul nebula's. I had planned to go out again and head towards the center and beyond but with planet landing and the ability to explore in an SRV I have decided to wait.
Imagine landing on a planet that has something worth investigating, but you require an SRV and your 20000Ly's from the nearest outfitters.
I have decided to go around 1 week after horizons is out and I wondered if anyone else wanted to make the journey, not in a wing and not as a race but simply to see others on the galaxy map heading in the same direction... now wouldn't that be cool?
I am flexible with dates or could possibly do a poll if people are interested.

Just being a little mischievous. It's a reference to the Alien films, LV-426 is the planet Nostromo lands on.

I'd be up for aomehing like this
I want to go out explore but don't want to be stuck out there when Horizon launches lol
I may do a mini explore to a popular nebula for now and see whw horizon launches!

It's not like Horizon will launch from one day to the next. Its beta will probably be announced at least a week before being released, and if you turn around at that point you'll probably have plenty of time to come back before Horizon goes gold.

For me the idea of going 15k Ly's and then turning around just to collect the SRV is terrible, rather wait.

I personally agree with you, but for all the ones who consider exploration their favored mode of play you can look at it as spending two months in the bubble when they don't have to.
