Now that I have got my conda I am looking to go explore my favorite nebulae. If anyone has a build for a exploring conda let me know. thanks!

I put this together post horizons.
http://inara.cz/cmdr-fleet/1758/6446You can save almost half the cost in downscaling the scoop from an A to a B.

Okay, thanks for the builds. Now I have a question. Why do yourself and TorTorden both have multiple Auto-maint units and why do you have multiple heat sinks?

@Mongorians Probably "ammunition" for longer explo trips? Three heat sinks per unit are not that much.
@TorTorden, wow that's a minimalistic build

Victoria's is quite appealing, though. Excellent jump range while having enough back-up in the repair;n;cool department.
I myself am still not satisfied with my Rattaconda, which is an universal build (FuelRatting, id est also exploration, and RESsing); the jump range is on the low end for a Rat, still the Power Distributor is almost too small for serious RESsing; overheating all over the place. Bigger PD=great loss of jump range. The PP will be changed for a A7 as soon as I have enough cash.
Any ideas how to make that Rat run faster? Here's the build:

Some good builds there:
I find that:
- 7B fuel scoop works well enough
- an extra 64T fuel tank or two also gives you a nice buffer if you have a run of non scoopable stars or scoopable but hot stars
- multiple afms repair each other, and a couple of heat sinks should be sufficient if you are careful
- chaff launcher can help with the occasional interdiction as you leave/return to the bubble
- I normally don't bother with weapons but they might be useful for the occasional ground attack

I set mine for going way way out of the bubble. So until we see aliens and whatnot out there no need for guns.
I actually drop heatsinks too, they are just too finite in charges to be worth the tonnage.
The scoop, well a 7c works fine even, but you get better heat with an A so if you can afford it no reason not to.
Extra fuel tanks only cause the nav computer to plot shorter jumps, regardless whether you have a full tank or not. And I have never been anywhere that is more than two jumps in range of a scoopable star, might have to deviate once but that's the most of it.
I tried taking it out on a trip but after going to 14k ly out I got so mind numbingly bored I found the self destruct button.
I guess exploration just isn't for me.

AFM can be refilled now via synthesis, but of course requires hunting for materials in an SRV.
So I guess one AFM is enough IF you are willing to do some material hunting if the need arises.

An AFM cannot repair itself, hence why you still want two of them

One to repair the other, they don't weigh anything either but one of them can at least be super tiny.
You could also for instance power both and repair modules faster, rather handy imo for repairing life support, since you have a finite amount of that.
Although it's a little crazy how turning off life support for 40 seconds is such a disaster.
Now if we could just get a way to refill our life support systems..
