2.) Times that you're on : I'm located in France (I'm french but communication shouldn't be a problem, I played Arma 3 with English speakers), GMT+1 think, so basically at the same times as London. My studies are taking me a lot of time but I usually manage to play on week-ends days and/or evenings, during the week it's relatively chaotic, most of the time I can be present for about 2/3 hours one or two evenings by weeks if I'm (very) lucky.

3.) Ship and primary functionality : I'm relatively new to the game, it's my first space sim but I love it. I'm currently playing an Eagle very basically armed (2 basic laser guns, 1 gimballed machine gun, interdictor, fsd tracker), I consider myself a bounty hunter and soon a trader escort when the wings comes out.
So I might not be very well equipped but I'm eager to progress and hone my skills.

4.) Your wishes for the wing : I'm quite lost already in this big universe so I do not have any suggestion for the headquarters location, but I'm into RP and it would be great to me to behave relatively realistically in combat (as Turbo described), a suggestion : using the in game comms who be a real immersion factor (with all the radio noises)

5.)Call sign : Kehlin, or the French/Frenchy as people usually call me, it will be up to the wing !

3.) Big Scary Unidentified Signal Source! It would appear from the large amount of yellow triangles on the sensor screen that these guys are in a USS. I would assume they're being engaged by all the little yellow friends here, but since they have the ability to cut AI on/off, this may be their way of showing what the new USS's could potentially look like. With a wing of 4, we could be jumping into 10-20 ships of varying sizes; maybe more. Would make for a very fun and rewarding dogfight.

This could also be a warzone prior to choosing a side. Those typically have this many contacts.

What I am concerned about in the targeting system is that there doesn't appear to be forward targeting, i.e. where you target your ally, and your sensors auto-forward to your ally's target (on the main sensor display). Perhaps this will get added later, or is already a feature but not seen in this image. Even better would be if the main sensor drew a hexagon around the hexagon wingmate's target without targeting your hexagon wingmate. This way, you could, at a glance, see who all of your wingmates are targeting.

I have a feeling we'll see a lot of changes to the Wings update in the coming year. I do get the impression that the target of each wingmate is displayed underneath their player icon. The group targeting feature sure would be nice though (fingers crossed).

@RedQueen Yes, it is definitely possible that this is a warzone. I'm sure I thought of that at some point, but that point wasn't when I was writing that update. I shouldn't try to post relevant information at the end of a 12 hour shift I suppose :\ Good job on the ship change again and the ranking up. I'm still an ensign. I've been focused on trading and such so I haven't had a lot of time to run those reputation missions. I may end up doing that soon though. Can't really be a wing leader as an ensign I don't suppose... I wouldn't be surprised if this targeting option were added later as well. It may actually be in there already and they just haven't told us.

@Kehlin Welcome to the Eagles my friend. I meant to do what RedQueen did and ask for that info from ya again, but I got dispatched to a call at the tail end of the post. Thanks for letting us know. I have a feeling we're going to get some good combat role-playing radio chatter going when we get this all setup. Like I've asked everyone else, just have some patience with me. I'm working to get everything setup, but it's hard to do when Wings isn't out yet. That, and the job gets a little busy this time of year with the winter weather (staying late, etc...). In any case, don't worry about being new. This game does have a lot to learn, but myself and anyone else will always help you out. Welcome to the verse!

Training Flight:Wanted to also let everyone know that I'm thinking about having a "Training Flight" for anyone who is interested. Basically, when wings comes out, we'll go out to a fed system in the mobius private group. We'll drop out near a nav beacon-but not in it-, and we'll go over some things that you all may or may not know already. Modules, weapons, power, tactics, etc... Just let me know if anyone is interested and we'll setup a time and place once wings comes out. I'd be happy to sit and pick each other's brains a little bit.

Voice Comms:Also, I saw someone mentioned something about radio sounds and in-game voice comms. They do sound awesome! There IS a way to make TS sound like this currently. The plugin is called "Crosstalk," and has a plugin included called "Radio FX." Just google "TS Crosstalk Plugin" and you'll come to the TS website. There are also great Youtube videos that guide you through this. There are also some Nextel radio clicks that you can use in place of the current TS sounds that add some great realism. My issue with the in-game comms is that there is a large delay. While this is great for keeping people from talking over one another, it's a bit difficult to talk in a timely manner. TS works wonders for this, and the plugin is very close to sounding just like the in-game comms. Took me a bit of messing around with it to get it to work, but it's great. I'll see about getting some different radio sounds for keying up and ending a transmission on the radio. Hope everyone is doing well! I'm about to be off for a few days, so I'll try to give the forums some more love and put some things up that I've been wanting to for a while. Take care! Turbo out.

No problem, I'll be patient, I understand that the wings aren't available for now so it's normal that we can't teamplay for now, I'll look for the radio plugin soon

As for training flight, I'm 100% in. I feel like I understand how to flight my ship (only with flight assist on for now), I'm think i'm using power management well enough. Anyway I'm sure that I have a lot more to learn

Question : Do we have a dedicated channel on the Mobius teamspeak? I have joined it yesterday evening but it didn't seem to be one so I guess not. In this case, which channel should we connect in in order to find each other easily once we're connected? (Federation or combat channel might be options)

Logo : I'm thinking if you're interested I could try to make the wing a logo from the reference you already gave and maybe create a signature. It would be nice to have a "saying", some kind of phrase just as the "ut quisque est sua" from the mobius server, but for our wing.

@Kehlin Sounds great. The training flight will be pretty basic, but it opens up for some good conversation about tactics and it gives you a few tidbits you probably didn't know about. If nothing else, it's a good way for myself or other more veteran players to teach you about each aspect of the game. I've pretty much tried them all so I have a good understanding of what each profession is about. You'll learn to love flicking that flight assist switch; trust me Yes, we'll go over some things about power management as well. As for TS having a channel just for us, I'm holding off until Wings releases to see if they already have plans. I will, however, be sending them a message this week to see if there is currently anything in the works. It would definitely be nice to have a nice little place for us to go hang out, fly, etc... I use the channels provided for now, but federation is where I find myself quite a bit. Lastly, the logo is kind of up to RedQueen at this point. I picked out the original template, but as long as she's ok with any changes, I'm ok with that. Just get with her about it so we don't have any toes stepped on. She did put in some work there.
