Just venting a little. It was my fault.
Was returning from the Combat Zone and was not fully focused on the game. Had been destroying Emperor's Dawn people and had a million+ in combat bonds.
1st as I neared the station, I forgot to ask for docking permission. I finally realized it about 2km from the letterbox. Got docking permission, went it.
I found my landing pad and was making a bee line for it.
As I was hovering over the landing pad, the warning came out that my landing gear was not deployed. Immediately activated my landing gear (using Voice Attack) as the landing gear was deploying I tried to thrust forward a little to align with the pad. Unfortunately my forward thrust button is also my secondary fire button (it only becomes forward thrust when landing override is activated, i.e. when the landing gear if fully down.) My hardpoints deployed and started firing before I realized what was going on. Suddenly, I got the "Trespass" warning and even before the countdown finished the stations internal batteries opened up and blasted me to bits.
Lost the 1mil combat bond and had to pay another 3mil in insurance for Lady Jayne.
Lesson: In Elite Dangerous, always pay attention to what your doing. Also, uncheck deploy hardpoints on fire or don't try to override your fire button.
