There are no NPCs in WoW battlegrounds so the comparison is void - it's pure PvP.

Sadly the original post by Mobius on the official forum has been edited - I do not know what the original stated. Yes, it does now say PvP in limited areas which changes the nature of the group. It's not "playing the environment" but rather Limtied PvP.
Wolf wrote:It looks like this group will have over 1000 members soon, and no sign of slowing down. Limiting warzones to either one faction (who decides which faction?), or crippling gameplay by not bein allowed to shoot the enemy in war will just not work in a group this size.
The size of the group is irrelevant - if it was a pure PvE group then shooting players, even in warzones would not be allowed : If you started an attack on ship and found it to be a player then you break attack. It's a gentlemans agreement that accidents can happen though - If you kill someone then depending upon where you were maybe implement a 3 strike rule and you're out. (Which gives people the benefit of doubt when in warzones)
Wolf wrote:What is important, and why I don't want to play warzones in open for all is, that even if I know there might be players on the opposing side, group rules forbid teamkillers and backstabbers (no-faction shooters)
There's nothing to stop that from happening in the group either - there is no magical game rule that stops it from happening just because you're in a closed group. Remember - If you're allowing PvP in warzones and we're on the same side I am perfectly allowed to kill you ... Your rules : PvP is allowed there. If you're saying "no no, can't kill the same side" then that takes discipline by the individual and it's no different than saying "in a warzone there are plenty of NPCs : kill them, not the commanders"

*Edit*
Upon reflection I feel that this group may not be the right one for me - I don't see the rules changing any time soon (and why should they for 1 person's sake ?)
For myself I just don't want to fight other commanders (or should I say I rarely want to - I am bad enough at this game without a real player reminding me of that fact) That shouldn't mean as a result I am barred from certain areas - you're allowing limited PvP into a PvE group (

) which means it's a PvP group.
You might as well close my account and I will leave the ED group.
Good luck commanders - Thanks for having me for a while
