Idea for a tool / addon for existing tool

Postby MarrV » Tue Dec 02, 2014 11:28 am

Hey guys,

I would do this myself but my coding skills are incredibly basic and I dont go near websites design end as my creativeness is similar to that of a clay brick.

However; I was thinking would it be possible to write a small something that essentially just has the ship types in drop down menu & then, similar to the galaxy map in game, a slider for your cargo weight to show your jump distances. It could be expanded on with more information to have additional options like different FSD grade drives.

Basically I am thinking it would be useful to pilots looking to buy other ships and consider long term variables like improving FSD instead of "stock" statistics, or comparing ships.

Any ideas/thoughts?

I actually used to have a page on my site for that. It was a full ship fitting simulator with jump range calculations and stuff. I had to take it down when they changed all the fittings but it will return again once I have enough time to recode it. :)

Excellent, Thrudd! That was really useful, as was the insurance calculator. Do you plan to bring that back too?

Sweet, I had not realised you were part of our group. I feel bad about not using your tool more now, but data inputting to two things was making me go cross-eyed.

Thank you for replying to this, I thought this was just another of my ideas that are great in my head only!
