I've also noticed they have changed the maneuverability stats. It's not in any of the patch notes but I found a forum post that assures that its the scaling thats changed (not a nerf to any of the ships) to account for the fighters.
For example, the Python now shows as 2/10 but tbh, it was never 6/10 to begin with. Vulture shows as 5/10.

  • I love the new hyperjump animation
  • Station interiors are nice
  • Not so keen on the new station interface layout. For example, I used the refuel 10% quite often now its in a sub menu and I dont see why livery is just sat there on its own. These are just minor things I'll get used to though.
  • I dont really see the need for the alert informing you of the security status of the target system. But I'm guessing it was requested for so maybe some play styles (powerplay or something), need it? I certainly have never bothered about going to any system.
  • Mission board etc seem much more responsive (for now)

Thats about as far as I've got so far!

I really like the station interior (just been at Kirkwood in Cernobog) it is a little bit 'Bladerunner' including searchlights.

In the hanger I noticed the cables are a lot more smoothly curved (whatever the tech term is) but then after a short period of time they get less curved and more angled. This might just be at Cernobog? Would be interested in knowing why this is.

So far, I think it's great.

I've only had time to check out the SLF and go to a few Nav Beacons with a rookie crew member and level her up a few ranks. I hope they add more vocal dialogue and personality to the crew. Had a good time getting interdicted by an FDL... too bad for him.

Did stop by a Low Security station and cash in some old bounties... had no idea I had so many legacy fines... good luck collecting those... :D

Did not notice until now. Eagle is no longer 10/10, I guess the fighters are now the king of manoeuvrability. Type-9, 0/10
I play on PC, in the Mobius PVE Eurasia group.

It makes sense that if you have a rating of 1-10 and you bring out a new Top Speed/Manoeuvrable King, then things will have to slide down the scale.

If Yaw was measured on all ships and its range was from 12 to 40 degrees per second and a new ship is released that can do 45 degrees per second, then the old one that did 40 is no longer a 10.

Same thing with speed ratings. And remember, all these stats are based on best publicly available modules. Engineered changes can take that ship that is a 6 and make it an 8.

For the moment still exploring. Really like the QOL feature where the Galaxy map remembers the route that you plotted even after you log off.
Like some of the new planet textures. The texture on the planets in the planet map is a nice feature although I would have preferred if the DSS showed POIs on that map.
The auto point to jump target is also interesting.
The security stat of the system you are jumping to is cool. And the info on the star class is awesome. Needs some UI repositioning but functionally awesome.
The new role panel is a bit big in my Python. Guess it has to accommodate the SLFs for the other ships.

But with most moons probably having 1000 POIs or more, and most planets with 10 times as many, then that could really get to be a cluttered map! Now if the could limit that to really significant POIs, or sight seeing destinations and the like, then I can see that. But if they are points of interest, then you'd think they'd be already known, so they shouldn't be difficult to find. Or maybe you could set filters. But I like to think of most POIs as just random crap you stumble across.
It's time to give this another go.
