There is not a ship in elite with a faster yaw speed than pitch or roll and as such you should make your best efforts to roll then pitch to your target. If you are slightly off target then yaw but otherwise roll and pitch again.

Type-9
Has surprisingly high yaw response.
The rebuttal Loriath made was informative, but not really contradictory to my full original statement. It merely caused me to admit that the first sentence may deserve a slight addendum that in fact helps to enforce the second statement made. All three axis of movement being equal still results in yaw being no faster than pitch or roll.
On the other hand TorTorden I am not sure what you are trying to get at. The T-9 does have decent yaw and slower roll than what is experienced in other ships, but a full 360 degree movement of strictly Yaw is not completed as quickly as a full 360 degree movement of roll or pitch. The only time that is untrue is apparently when you are in the Eagle and under the effects of boost maneuvering or some circumstances in F/A off.
I know I brought up F/A off but I didn't bring up boost maneuvering because I am under the assumption that everyone with a little flight experience knows using boost greatly increases speed and maneuverability. IDK I am rereading this post and thinking I come off a bit abrasively, but really it is kinda because I tried to stay on topic with the OP and you guys are kinda straying away from that. The OP is in an ASP so we know they have a bit of flight experience. I assume they are not going back to an Eagle, Viper, Cobra, or Type-6 and cant afford a Python, FDL, Clipper, or Type-9.
Op asked "Any other ideas to move quicker during dogfights?" and my reply in short was to avoid yaw if possible, focus on more efficient maneuvers like roll and pitch, and learn the two of the most useful F/A off moves. Also giving advice for maneuvering trade ships when talking about dogfights is kinda off topic considering unless you are daft you don't take trade ships into dogfights.
If any of my assumptions are wrong then I come out looking a bit silly otherwise I stand by what I have said.
