This is also Li Yong Rui space so both ships and modules are 15% discounted that makes a large difference whether you don't have a lot of credits yet or will spend a lot of credits.
You really brought up something on my mind too. The game says I have 328 million in assets, (The army must keep that money, cause I never saw a nickel of it. -Forest Gump) But by my figuring, if I sold my anaconda (AGGGHHH, No!), the viper, the vulture, the courier, and the clipper (Not the mining ship!) it would leave me enough to buy the Imperial Cutter. The question I've been pondering was if I wanted to trade them all in on a capital ship. Did your corvette turn out to be everything you dreamed? Or keep them, be able to dog-fight, and mine, and mission, and buy her another day?
The Vette is a fine ship, but as Tor said, there is nothing you can do that you can't do in many other ships, but it fun and, well, big and imposing, it's also quite deadly.
It depends on what you like doing, the FAS is a blast but I haven't missed it since getting the Vette, that said my FDL is probably the most fun to fly but weak in comparison, haven't missed the Vulture at all (it just takes too long to kill stuff in comparison).
The Cutter, well, I only D rated it when I had it, made loads of money but never really enjoyed it (but that's more to do with trading than anything else.)
