Any suggestions? I assumed I'd have beta access since I purchased Horizons beta access in my pre-order.

I'm not 100% sure but you might try logging into the frontier store and from the "MY DOWNLOADABLE PRODUCTS" section see if you can find a beta launcher. I downloaded the launcher for the 'Lifetime Expansion Pass' and that updated my launcher to v0.4.5499 (version string is in the lower left of the launcher application).

After updating the launcher I was then able to select the beta 2.1 client from beside the 'play' button and start the download (sync files).

I was able to grab the launcher from the frontier forums. Downloading req beta files now. Thanks.

I just did a small bit of combat in my FAS. Don't see what all the fuss is about with the new AI, at least in regards to stuff on the official forums. It's an improvement to me. I have also found that I have taken a lot of hull damage compared to what I normally would, but that could do with the new difficulty. Also, I got 120k off an elite Asp Ex and a further 200k off an elite 'conda. Hope this means they've tweaked the credit income for bounty hunting! Would certainly be a nice touch, especially with the slightly elevated risk from harder enemies and different weapons.
I also noticed that Bitching Betty got some new voice lines for when you get fired upon by the engineer weapons. Heard one for disruption rounds, one for the thermal bleed through laser thingy, and one more. Nice touch, but I can see that getting annoying after a while.

I somehow don't have access to the beta either(I purchased the Horizons season pass with beta access since the Lifetime Expansion access was already over on my b-day)

Can anyone post some pictures please ? Especially from the huge lasers :D

EDIT: Seems my purchase got downgraded somehow(?) as I have no downloadeable products in the frontier store but 3 orders all purchased and one of the the Horizons season pass.

Maybe steam failed big this time I don't know.

Welp no cool lasers for me until 2.1 releases. :(

Go to your store account, and click downloadable products. Download the Horizons launcher. It's separate from the normal ones, though it's freakin' identical, and a bit idiotic to be required. Regardless, click on the Horizons Beta, and install it.

I have the correct files, and the required permissions, but that's how I had to do it.

Anywho, I like the redone menus in the beta.

How do people play this game with a controller? I am genuinely asking.. It just feels, wrong. I think I might compromise and use a controller + flight pedals to compensate somewhat..

Finally, bookmarks! Am I right? Been using ships for bookmarks for ages.

Am I right in assuming this progress will not be carried into the full launch, no? I'd rather not do any permanent damage to my bank account; though I do expect this stuff will get wiped, as in the Horizons 2.0 Beta.

Just did some testing in a RES - an NPC with one chaff module is able to fire 10 or more chaffs. Well, now that the AI has had a buff they should at least play by the same rules.

Anyone else notice that the mission givers look like crack addicts?

Need to do some further testing but I am sure I was able to KWS an npc while it was using chaff. I think I read that the higher grade KWS's can over rule chaff. Like I say need to verify again.

I've had problems navigating menus with my hat switch unless I click something on the menu first. Anyone else having this problem?
It's time to give this another go.

Can't use most menus with the hotas as usual.
The mouse pointer never goes away and just sits there and that supercedes selections..
So pretty much forced to use the mouse to hunt and peck.
Which is one of the annoying bits on the new outfitting it and my setup really isn't that we'll equipped to use the mouse.
