So I don't make an ASS out of U and ME, why is that?

Because you'll be filling up your internals with hull reinforcements, and not SCBs. Biweave regen quicker too, both from empty and from minor damage. Although, I prolly more should have said they're preferred, and not a must.

Bi-weave shields regenerate quicker, for sure, but they are equivalent to D rated shields.

Well, yeah, but they also go down quicker. I was wondering if it had do with using silent running and you'd want them to come back up as quick as possible when you wanted them back, or if mayby it had to so with ramming (if that's the purpose of tanking) and you'd want them at full again before lining up your next target. I've always been a max shields, light armor, kind of guy and haven't experimented with these other forms of combat, so I'm not sure of the proper techniques, but I'm always willing to learn. But if tanking is just to survive a slug fest, then I'm probably not to interested in that. I HATE taking hull damage! ;)

I just tried some bi-weaves on my Cutter instead of my usual 8C shields. For me, the faster regeneration wasn't worth the loss in strength. I like to use my Cutter as a battering ram, and then pop a shield cell as required. That's just me, though, and I could see how some people would love their bi-weaves. :-)

I flew my Python with a 6A SCB and a Heat Sink Launcher. I recently upgraded that to two 6A SCB and two Heat Sink Launchers. This is mostly because in my Python I can only fight for so long before running out of SCB, and doubling up on them allows me to stay in HAZ RES zones for longer periods of time before going back to a station to repair and reload.

I use Heat Sinks to avoid module damage. I've had too many close calls with Anacondas damaging my FSD when I'm trying to escape, the last thing I want is for heat damage to exacerbate that issue.

I still haven't upgraded my Power Plant on my Python to a 7A due to how expensive it is, I'm wondering if I'll have less heat problems when I do.

Hello,
AFAIK power plant heat management is due to PP rating, not size.
I've tried SCBs on my Python with and without heat sinks. Still survivable without heat sinks. Better with heat sinks. Problem for me is that I have to give up a shield booster if I put in a heat sink. I just tried using an A4 SCB last night without heat sinks in my Python. And pretty much came to the conclusion that using A4 SCBs to try to regen some of my 5A Prismatics shield ring is not a good idea.
My Corvette uses 6A SCBs with heatsinks. Just had her upgraded to Mil grade armour. But when I tried to tank a Conda firing flak the armour didn't seem to do squat. Might as well have been using the default hull.
On the FAS I tried. A combination of Mil grade and bi-weaves was the way to go. 2 pips to sys and 4 to weapons. The shields seem to hold up well if and when the opposition managed to get a shot on target.

Have fun, fly safe. o7
