Thanks guys. Feeling better now. I am planning to just potter about on surface in my SRV grabbing any loot i can find. Spent about an hour driving around and netted 200k cr for not much work.

I am away again for work most of next week so I'll be playing on my Surface Pro 2 and a gamepad (Steam controller) so driving would be easier than flying with it!

I'm finding that if I do haulage missions I rarely get interdicted, maybe 1 in 10 or less, if I'm just flying around with stuff in my hold I'll get interdicted, so given that FD said they toned down the interdictions on missions I get the feeling the missions override general interdictions.

Your ship certainly changes who interdicts you, in my Vette it's always Condas and FDLs, in my Python its Pythons and FGSs and FASs. Oddly the Pythons cause me the most trouble as they seem to always skip between chaff and SCBs.

That said I've not done a single salvage mission (ever I think), so maybe that's where the trouble is.

Xebeth - not only do they need to sell future expansions, they need a constant stream of new players. That means they need existing players to recommend the game (even if only on forums) and for newbies to have at least a chance. I've sold a couple new players over time but right now can't recommend anyone buy the game. So, yea, there's a wee bit of pressure on 'em to get it right. Hopefully it won't take as long as negotiating Brexit will take...

Smartroad - Just take a break, remember why you love ED, and check in on it every so often.

Hello,
Yup. Been encountering really weird NPCs in my Python. Met one competent Python which managed to take out my A-rated Python. Then in a Nav beacon I was killing Elite and deadly ships, albeit with the help of local security most times.
Then went mining in my Python. Had "water" as cargo. Got scanned by a pirate but was left alone. No attacks nothing. Also, whole weekend no intradictions. But last Thursday was at a system with a war going on and kept getting intradicted by local security that basically did nothing after the intradiction, every time I came into the system.

The AI is so screwy right now I don't think even the Devs understand the mess.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

npc behavior is all screwed up. I have actually had docking requests denied at some particularly busy coriolis stations because there was an idle NPC hover above and to the right of every single large docking port in the station

That happened quite frequently during really busy CGs in 2.0 times already. The internal guns of the stations will remove them soon enough.

Lase, your always welcome to come over to the Dark Side with the A-Team and we can hunt for stuff as a Team. Makes it more interesting and good for laughs, even when your hull is being ripped apart and you realize it is more from Friendly Fire when you get in the way of Tor and his Vette than the Elite Enemy four of us are pounding on :P

Agreed with most of the opinions here. But I have enjoyed this game far too much for too long to quit on it just yet.
Recently I loaded up my clipper for mining/surface salvage and have been doing all I can to unlock different engineers.

I was getting interdicted like crazy and just recently outfitted my cutter with a full complement of mine launchers. Process goes like this...

1-get interdicted
2-submit immediately
3-fly in a straight line away from the enemy with full pips to shields.
4-dump mines like I stole 'em
5-npc flies straight into my trail of mines and does his best death star impersonation.
6-earn a few thousand bounty on said npc
7-double back and collect any valuable materials the bum had on him.
8-dock and collect bounty/restock mines/sell unneeded salvage.
9-Smile :D

Until I can kit my ship with all of the engineer mods that the NPC's are flying around in I am just using their dumb logic against them. Since they are too dumb to avoid the trail of mines. I am killing elite anacondas and FDL's without even breaking a sweat using this tactic. Give it a try whenever you are feeling the rage!

Hello,
Good tactic. Loaded my Explorerconda with a couple of mine launchers, but haven't had a chance to use them yet.
Have not tried it with my Cutter but will soon. Once I get to levelling up the Dweller by trading.

Have fun, fly safe. o7
