Tonight I came to the conclusion that I'm too easily distracted by inner-bubble exploration opportunities to be a successful rares trader. I spent the remaining 2.5 hours of my evening in a RES site raking in a whopping 6mil and some change. Wow, this is the first time I've felt like I was getting the hudson bonus.

RNGeesus has finally smiled upon me... 45min in this pitch black high-RES spawned nothing but pythons, dropships and clippers - all of them dangerous, deadly or elite. quite a hefty sum right there. also, got my combat rank from 7% up to 20% in the process.

I have never ever, had a payout as high as that.
Max I have gotten is 3.3 mil for a single session and when I tried my luck in that one system I would hardly see any spawn what so ever and cobra's at most :S

Anyhoo, that's par for my luck anyways.

Today, I have been mostly trading, and later tonight I went on a walk about in my neighbourhood and hopped into a high conflict zone, where I was happily blowing away ships for a good long while, albeit not quite as profitable

Yea I was just lucky. At the end, a T9 transporter flew between me and the clipper I was fighting and I hit him by accident gaining a 300Cr bounty. The nearby police and the T9 started shooting at me so I had to leave. Unfortunately when I came back clean - no ships were left

Its been a week of faffing.

After the failed FDL experiment I've been trying to get my (small) fleet back up to spec, it seems the system where I was originally able to purchase and fully upgrade my Vulture and DbE have decided to no longer stock any high class modules, and nor do any of the surrounding high population-high tech systems.

The result being a 100ly trip to Torval space per ship to get the upgrades I need (and I still need to do it again to finish off the DbE). It also left me with one of my ships in a wrong station in the same system as another ship, so I jumped into a stock Sidewinder for the 1000ls trip between the stations, and of course got interdicted by a dangerous Vulture, barely making it back into SC with 9% hull left.

Several days, 100s of lys and only expense, time to hit a RES and take out my frustration on some pirates.

I had a punt at the CG in HIP 116213 (or something like that), kill pirates but no RES available. No problem, I have recent reworked my Vulture to fit an interdictor, seemed slow going, but I ended up in the to 40% after not too much effort and just raked in an 8 million bonus. Now I'm (ahem) doing naughty stuff in a system controlled by a rival power, which is fun, but I really should take more care when harassing elite Type-9s.
