Wouldn't really recommended them on the vulture, sure it can work and its a personal opinion.
Something like this http://coriolis.io/outfit/vulture/04A5A ... BhrMEZLDiA could work, but power demands get pretty tight. So tight in fact that you just turning on the KW scanner will have to switch off one of the beam lasers.

It is a little light on shields so I would be cautious attacking wings with this setup, but if solo, the police ships can help.

All this talk of large beams had me curious again so I went hunting for some to try on the python.
Took a bit of hunting but found some (in sol again, on Abraham Lincoln I think)

Also needed to bump my PP from c to B, currently testing with a cannon in the third, but contemplating getting another beam there as well. But that might even need an A grade PP to work...

Beams are fun and they do noticeably more damage at range where pulse pretty much feel like water pistols outside a Km.

Might go half way with burst instead. Save rest for next ship.

I had bursts briefly, but went with pulses in the end. Slightly (but still noticeably) more effective because of the reduced heat buildup.

Been Honking and scanning every system I am jumping into. Seems i found a Large Swath of unexplored. Bad part is not much more than Ice and Rock. One WW in the last 22 systems. But I am being thorough and scanning everything I see no matter how long it takes.

Did a marathon trading session today and ranked up to Tycoon. Now, after months and months of trading and exploring, it's time to relearn combat and try to catch up with my trading and exploration ranks.

It's nice to rank up, but it's kind of depressing now looking at those 0% progress bars and knowing it will take about three times the total effort I've put in over the last 8 months to rank up to Elite, not to mention the months just to catch up in combat.

Well, at least I know that if I want to reach Triple-Elite that I'll have something to do for the next two years.

Well. Dropped fixed beams and went back to the faithful pulse gimballed. Much better
