On my way back from the centre, was going straight back but got diverted to the Eagle Nebula and now the Omega Nebula. 6000 Ly's from Sol so a big push to get home today.

decided to try pewpewing enemies down instead of hauling 15 merits per 30min. got to rank 3 now. i'm never hauling merits again

Did a marathon trading session today and ranked up to Tycoon. Now, after months and months of trading and exploring, it's time to relearn combat and try to catch up with my trading and exploration ranks.

It's nice to rank up, but it's kind of depressing now looking at those 0% progress bars and knowing it will take about three times the total effort I've put in over the last 8 months to rank up to Elite, not to mention the months just to catch up in combat.

Well, at least I know that if I want to reach Triple-Elite that I'll have something to do for the next two years.

I'm 77% towards Tycoon, I can't see myself having to grind out another 660m to get to Elite anytime soon.

After a short(ish) trip to the top of the disc netted me numerous first discovered (including an Earth-like), 2M, and 60 odd explorer percentage points, thought I would try a trip to the bottom of the disc. It seems this is a more popular route and every system I jumped into was already discovered, so to get to some virgin systems I started to wander in just random directions.

Whilst it was never my original intention, it now seems that I am heading in the direction of the core. It appears that I am now off the tourist route and hitting lots of undiscovered stuff, only a terraformable water world of note so far though.

We'll see how far I get before the urge to kill stuff becomes too great again, the issue I have is a lack of patience, I tend to only detail scan interesting looking stuff, so I'm leaving in my wake a trail of half scanned systems, which I know annoys proper explorers, but I can't bring myself to spend time scanning lumps of rock and ice

So for now it's Sagittarius A* here I come

Heading out further and further. Current target is the Jellyfish Nebula then on to Monkey head Nebular, Still a long way to go. Am about 2500 ly from Lave now and the stars are thinning out a lot.
My son was with me but since leaving Barnards loop area he is not able to make the jumps so has turned back so I am going it alone now.
Finally started getting into undiscovered systems as well. I am hoping that from here on out they will mostly all be unseen by anyone.

Where? I could never get that to work

I flew 80ish lightyears to a system named Huichi. You'll find a lot of "Enemy" ships there. Just interdict them and you get 15 powerplay points per kill. I was there for like an hour, got 650ish merits. Most of the ships are small so you can just kill them in a few seconds.
