The current costs are pretty damn steep for moving the big ships. If the prices stay where they are, it's not a feature that I'm likely to use much at all.

I can fly the ship to point B in about the same amount of time and save 10's of millions of dollars in the process.

Same here. I can handle the delay, but at 10-20 million a pop for moving my Cutter a few Ly I won't be using it. Here we have a QoL feature that was intended to promote game play ending up by being totally fucking useless. Great result, team. Great result.

Personally based on past experience, this is totally FD.

Implement something cool, then gimp it. Balance.

FD already admitted that the current timing and pricing are broken because they increase exponentially rather than linear, so I am not worrying too much right now. Having to pay 100 million to ship a 20 million Cobra Mk III or 2.1 billion for a 400 million cutter out here is just stupid, there should be a hard cap at the ship value. And for those prices, I will take a suicidewinder back to the bubble and fly my ships out myself.

On the other hand, 61 hours for 22.000 LY is reasonable for a bulk freighter once you have watched the "Educating Ed" episode about the Hutton Truckers and start doing the numbers. Their convoys jump every 2-3 minutes, so 61 hours means between 1220 and 1830 jumps for 22.000 LY, which means a jump range of 12-18 LY.

Let's see what beta 4 brings this week.
Dirty deeds done dirt cheap for reasonable prices

Just checked in on beta 4. Sadly, the prices for ship transfer are still way too high, and impractical.

I'm new to the game so haven't experience much, but wanting to be an explorer I'm sort of glad the prices are high.

I personally don't like the sound of this new feature coming up. It would just kill the size and scope of the game if for a few credits and time-gating boom, you're on the other side. End game or not...

Isn't part of the fun of the game the journey?

I could be wrong but this feature seems to undermine those who have taken the time to venture far.

Ah, thank you for clearing that up. That's cool then. So basically, you transport the ship you want over there, but still have to do the trip to get there. Cool.

The other way round. You have to get there and then you can 'call' the ship of your choice to you. You can't send it on ahead. If you could do that you would effectively be able to negate the time delay in the process by planning for your ships to be where you will need them in advance.
