ROFL, no, I wish it was possible! I'm thinking to try an all burst gimballed laser setup except the 2 medium hardpoints where I'll leave the 2 multicanons I have. Oh, and I won't touch my 4B gimballed Canon, makes me laugh so hard when I manage to hit with it :D

Currently I have turrets instead, they're not bad but the gimballed ones will do more damage. If I still have power headroom on the capacitor I may try some beams. I need to go in a haz res and test. Sorry dear pirates, I need guinea pigs!

At the moment, I'm running all pulse lasers (4 turretted, 4 gimballed) on the Anaconda. Not having any trouble with the few pirates who bother to interdict me, but cannons would be fun. After running an Asp with 6 beam lasers for a couple months, I'm a bit sick of them, and I already feel ike my capacitor is a bit under-powered for pulse lasers. (I went with a C7, I think, which I could certainly improve upon, but I believe there was no A8 at the station where I was outfitting, and this does give me 25+ly jump range.)

Well, if you need high jump range when ladden downsizing is the way to go. As I said, mine is not yet a pure trade conda, will become one when it's replacement is found in the future (the distant future!). For example, many pilots who got Corvetes or Cutters downgraded the condas or sold them off completely.

Running missions for Alliance..
And wondering if we some day get some support modules for our ships, like remote shield boosters etc.. Something like in Eve Online.

Also did some testing and we seem to have a new safety feature for jumping. Before when we jumped to another system, and while jumping went afk or watched cat videos from youtube, we found our ships burning up pretty close to the sun or a rebuy screen in worst case.
But now, if you alt-tab to browser for example when jumping, after the jump throttle stays in zero if the focus is on some other window when the jump ends. Going to test this a few more times before I start blindly trusting this :)
I play on PC, in the Mobius PVE Eurasia group.

Back to Turir and Jera, doing my slow grind to Elite via Bounty Trading. That is, trading with a fully armed Imperial Cutter. Got tired of submitting to interdictions only to run away. Now I submit and blow some pirates out of the void.

37% Tycoon and 42% Combat Novice. Let's see if I can hit 200 kills tonight. Pirates must pay for the torture of traders!

Now, back to Jera I go.

Putting my Viper mk4 through it's paces running errands for the blue haired one. It finally dawned on me that since this ship is geared to be a fighter-bomber (heavy defenses & stable handling) I should equip some missiles or torpedoes. Combo of burst lasers & heatseekers doing well so far, will check out how they fare in a high CZ area like in Exioce.

Trying Taribes now. Seems good.
Just noticed something. Awhile back I read somewhere on the official forums that the higher paying the mission the better the increment in ranking. And that charity missions were actually the slowest but easiest way to rank up. But now that we finally have that rank progression bar I noticed that charity missions are actually the best way to rank up. They seem to give more percentage in ranking than delivery missions.
I ran 2 good delivery (200k each) and 1 package delivery (about 5k) and got 1% increase. Did 2 charity missions and got 1% increase. Currently Ensign, ranking up to next level.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

You're welcome, CMDR! Always glad to help!

The higher the payout, the bigger the progression - I am unsure about this. Did some cargo delivery missions (3, each about 2M CR - no smuggling) raised my progression about 3%. 4 charity missions did the same (about 40k CR and 20T of Agri-Meds). For the cargo delivery, I needed about 20 minutes, for the charity missions less then 5 minutes.

The payout of the missions has greatly increased and cargo delivery missions for example also raise your trading rank. But FD changed the rank up progress, so you need more missions to rank up. At least we have a progress bar now. ;)

For the empire, the ranking is a bit more "grindish" then for the federation. There is no 17 Draconis / Tun / LTT 911 - there is only Cubeo (which is totally pirate infested in open, btw) and I didnt encountered more then 2 or three donation missions at once.

Fly Safe!

Hello,
I ranked to King from just below Baron (I think) at Fehu. Running the high payout delivery missions. Also managed to get Tycoon, Chief Petty Officer and enough credits to get and A rate a Cutter.
Don't know if Fehu is still worth it though.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

Spent the day in Katarnes <sic> got my Empire merits to 2,700. My fingers are numb. lol Katarnes is at something like 27,000 % so pretty certain it will be acquired. My home system, HIP 16607 is a control system and we managed to hit the trigger on fortifications before the undermining. Looks like there are 4 systems in the preparation slot that will move into expansion for the next cycle. Empire has an avg of 15,000 prep points in each system with no opposition from any other power.

Got my cash up from 9.5 million to 13.6 million and my galaxy wide bounty to 1.2 million :P Oh and also hit Knight rank with the empire :)

I have heard rumors that Fehu has been nerfed, but I haven't seen for myself. I'm starting to wonder if I don't actually want a Cutter more than a Corvette (it would be an even better trading vessel than my Anaconda, and probably passable in NPC pirate combat), so I may check it out soon.

I am at 91% on Entrepreneur, so I'm trying to grind out some more trading money to get that to Tycoon before going back to ranking (whether Fed or Imperial. I think I'm about 2 ranks closer on Fed at Lieutenant/Lord, so I may stick with it.) And bonus, that also means I get a bigger war chest in the meantime. In about a week or so, I've bought an Anaconda, and also raised my funds almost back to the same level as when I got it, so I feel pretty good about that purchase.
