Congrats on Elite status, Xebeth! I am hoping to hear that DING!, at least on trade rank, in the not-too-distant future.

In more immediate news for myself, I F I N A L L Y (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!1!11one) finished that wretched grind on Cubeo 3A last night/this morning. I actually did go to a party for a few hours, but left around 11pm because I knew I was close to victory here, came back, and continued my grind till about 3AM.

If I hadn't lost my voice from shouting over dozens of people in a smallish apartment, I probably would have woke up my neighbors with a WOO-HOO!.

I managed to go to Wuru to buy my Cutter, and get it down to Diaguandri to pick up a few more modules before I had been up for 22 hours straight and desperately needed sleep. Totally worth the slight hangover today.

Yes, the Cutter handles like crap, but it's so pretty, and it will make me so much money! :-D

The A-Team has moved on out beyond the bubble and claimed a world in the name of the A-Team. We are not the discoverers, but I think we are the first to land there.

AKAA BOB is with us for now. We plan on raiding the worlds loot for our own.

He has to have a go at me constantly and makes me feel like a total loser all the time or is it wanker? Is a wanker and a loser the same thing? I don't know. But when I am in need of help someone that badgers me about how I talk or how I list out a problem or how I answer a question really sends me over the edge. Is Bollocks, Bollox, Ball axes? is that the same as "F*** Y**"? I don't know.

Right now I am beyond wound up over the BS I went through with Xcom 2 and now Horizons and the last thing I need is someone telling me how messed up I am :(

You know, I don't know you that well, but you don't seem at all "messed up" from your postings on here. In fact, I think many of us quite enjoy them.

As for the Horizons problem, I think I ordered it from FDev's site, and it gave me a key, which I put into Steam, even though I originally bought Elite through Steam. This sounds like the reverse of what you did though, correct me if I'm wrong. I will say that if I follow in-game links to the store for paint jobs and bobbleheads now, they will be unusable in my game. If I go directly to FDev's website, everything works great.

Again, I think you may have the reverse situation, but my experiences illustrate that there seems to be a store-disconnect between Steam and FDev. I think it may actually be something of a login credentials issue. I think Steam tries to tie everything to your Steam ID, and FDev tries to tie everything to your email address.

Having said that, I think I had the option to download horizons either from the FDev site (though I remember navigating to that part being a bit labyrinthine) or Steam itself. Maybe try uninstalling and coming at it from the other direction, to see if it will end up talking to the right set of servers for authentication? If you install from FDev's site, and that works, you can put Horizons into Steam even without a steam code. You can launch just about any program that exists from it, and get the overlay capabilities, even if it may not integrate with achievements and all that. (Elite has no steam achievements anyway.)

I hope that helps, as I think we'd all love to see you post something victorious for once. :-)

I landed my exploration conda (with downgraded thrusters, it would probably be easier with a combat build) on achenar 3 with it's 6+G.

A rule of thumb, if you see your M/s after glide reach above your normal boost speed, you are going to want to slow down quick, boosting away from surface is oddly not very good, better to fly like a plane and keep the nose at about 5-20 degrees incline to reduce downwards momentum.

But again that's only for 4G+ planets and they are few and far between.

Actually i just retrofitted my Python for ground assault/srv deployment. One large beam and lots of dumbfire missiles. It even has 128t of cargo space so i might get some good trade missions with it too. I don't want to change my Conda weapons loadout so python might be the second best thing....

Actually i was originally thinking about using my FDL for this, but now that i have Anaconda for multi purpose, i don't need Python for that anymore.

Congrats on Elite status Xebeth

The main reason I like to keep the Python multirole instead of the Anaconda, is that it can land everywhere. Running missions with an Anaconda is often pointless, since it can't land at outposts.

I logged into Elite normally and wanted to see if I could buy an SRV, that would confirm that it was working, right? I was at Lavigny Duvals HQ and there was no option to buy it. Is it always available at every station; or is it another item that has to be searched for all over the galaxy?

Sorry you're having trouble with Horizons, Steam, and your wingmate. :(

I imagine that if you have Horizons, your ship should have a 'planetary approach suite:' (or some similar name) on board. I think you can only see the module from the outftting screen though, as it doesn't show up in your 'modules' list on your right panel. Most stations should have a Planetary Vehicle Hangar module that you can put on an internal bay, and add an SRV to it after purchase for planet side mischief. ;)

I have found all of your posts on the board to be intelligent and often quite insightful as well as helpful to many of our group members. I am impressed at your in-game knowledge especially since I get the feeling that you haven't been playing E-D forever like .... er...... some people. ;)

If you are ever looking for a non-judgemental wingman that simply enjoys combat with others for the sheer fun of killing things together, please add me to your friends list. I BH the general Azrael area and am always willing to travel a bit to share a RES session. :)

True, that's about only downside for conda. It can still land on surface bases?

Getting annoyed by the npc pirates. Frontier should buy them all cargo scanners. No matter if I had 192 tons of Biowaste or completely empty and just vacuumed cargo hold.

"All that tasty cargo..."

And some 100cr sidewinder "criminal" interrupts my travels.
I play on PC, in the Mobius PVE Eurasia group.

Second day back playing, took Arnie (My 'Conda) into the local Hazardous RES site for a few hours - not quite sure I like the new RAM-SCAN system the NPC's seem to have installed - hopefully they will fix the bug soon, nearly lost Arnie a couple of times by getting rammed by an NPC coming to scan me while I was busy taking on another target - but otherwise it's been fun - averaging around 4Mil per hour in bounties.

I do think all surface bases have a large pad, yes. I certainly haven't found one without one.
