Finally took the plunge and configured my Keelback for planetary exploration and/or destruction :)

I"m wondering though why nobody bothered to configure the SRV controls to match the ship. Was driving around like a crazy man because I turned on a control I shouldn't have

good luck on your set up, this was a huge issue for me also. I did get my controls to mostly work on the joystick I had, for me I didn't see the appeal of the srv.
For now I bailed on the srv until I find the patience and a reason to set up my new HOTAS for it.

Also to stay on the thread I am working on the CG for the "Ceremonial Heike Tea" now and the trips are long!
But I have a question if the goal doesn't make tier one do we still get payed to participate?

But .... if the same little shit interdicts me twice in one system, I'll fry his ass every time. :D

I have this love/hate thing with NPCs and with live players. If someone leaves me alone I am more than willing to leave them alone. But if someone goes after me I respond with a vengeance. NPCs are a one shot deal but I will make note of the faction and kill them over another faction. As to real players, attacking me once generates a vendetta and I will actively seek them out and kill them repeatedly until them they beg for mercy or just "go away"

Subsequently I am right at home in the Dark Zone in "The Division" which is where I am spending most of my time when I am not ferrying fortification supplies.

And I have finally figured out "duh" how the PP works and to me it is beyond asinine!

This is what I thought to be the case:
The cycle starts and every system is at 0% Fortification and 0% Undermining.

System A needs 5000 Fortification trigger and there is a 7500 undermine trigger. Now I thought the triggers had to be reached by the end of the cycle for the event to occur. Either a system is "Fortified" by hitting the 5000 BEFORE undermining hit their trigger or visa/versa!

BUT not so. Both events still occur if met before the end of the cycle and the battle for control is "cancelled" To me that is beyond stupid. There is no urgency in the premise.

So in my example above if System A is undermined to 500 % with no opposition, then on the last day there is 100% fortification the whole attack is cancelled and the parent owner of the system retains control? Hello? Obviously the system is set up so the conflict will never have any far reaching effects. It's bland IMO and no matter how hard a player works towards the goal its just a question of collecting my 50 million or whatever rank the player is at and collect whatever bonus is afforded then rinse and repeat.

I agree with @Black_Rose.

PP could be a lot better if it wasn't such a numbers game. Fortification should be equivalent to supplies for defending planetary outposts. Undermining should equate to supply lines for invading forces. The whole planet and the surrounding space around it should be one huge CZ with ships, SRVs, Goliaths etc fighting for either side.

That would make PP a much less soulless exercise for everyone.

Thank you guys! It was funny I got the rank while flying my old Cobra, even funnier because I totally was fooling around with it, I put two plasma accelerators on it and was hunting solo. Lots of fun, and lots of cursing when I was missing :)
