I was in a nav beacon (Maia actually) attacked by two competent Adders. I killed the one quickly enough, but I had already lost shields when I turned to face the other and I was down to 92% hull. And then ... I died. It was not a combat Asp though. Still...

Something not right there, either that's a bug, or it's staged. There is a lot of scaremongering going on.

His wingmates appeared to be in front of him, so I'm not so sure it was staged.

Taking a "possibly" long break from Elite. I'm not particularly happy with the balancing with the new patch. Also left the Facebook group mainly because I started to see "Git Gud" posts, which I feel aren't helpful in the slightest. I know no-one should care what I do, but I like the community here and wish them the best. Have fun guys, enjoy your game. Peace out.

Been reading a lot of "git gud" posts too. Haven't tried combat yet. But had a feeling that ED was going to loose people.

Problem is people with different gaming backgrounds.....

If you are used to a flight sim like DCS A-10C you know ONE direct hit on you can take you down.....So you learn how to avoid that ONE hit.....

I know it is well removed from ED.....But you have an inbuilt knowledge of plane/ship handling.......

That knowledge especially with DCS A-10C takes months if not years to learn.....A 631 page flight manual.....

It's a bitch........

But I suppose with that you know what you are getting into.......

FD just ramped it up from OK to a "Bit of a bast".......

And people are going to have to adapt and improve.........If they cannot do that.....The fine leave the game....

If only life was that easy......

What a surprise, some missions are broken. Took a normal hauling mission, reward was 1M cr. At the last minute they texted me that destination changed, instead of X deliver the product to Y. I'm at Y now, can't hand in the mission, and the mission still says Y is the final destionation. Exit - login did not help. I'll check again tomorrow, but pretty sure I'm gonna get fined.

Although I work in Flight sims, to train pilots. Starting the engine is a bitch, get the systems the way you want them is a pain. Taking off and landing in weather conditions is something you must pick up. Then there is the weapons and target and enemies. Problem is you don't get it right at work people wil not have a good day.
This is a game.
Joke around my office is that I work on a flight Sim the whole day and then go home to play one. Keep telling them that it's a game. To relax and be entertained.

Corvette now has 2 gb class 4 beams, 1 turreted class 3 beam and 4 small pulse turrets, destroyed everything so far today.

I'm going to have to give that a try! I haven't used turrets on a combat ship yet but with the 'slippery' NPC's that we have now, it makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the tip, Victoria.
