I got my Cutter's boost speeed to around 410 with level 3 mods. The problem is I can't stop the damn thing when I boost in a RES. Takes about 5km to come to a stop.

A cutter doing 410 with just level 3? And there are level 5 mods out there. GULP.

On stopping, tried a scoop turn and counter-boosting?

I got quite adept at it last week with some slick FA-OFF turns, thrust down and boost forward at the same time until a T-7 got in the way, and I got a 5 day bounty on my head. I headed back to the station to buy a suicidewinder and clicked the wrong button and sold the Cutter (with a week's effort of mods) by mistake. Fortunately I had a spare Cutter that (only) took another 3 days to get modded.

The Cutter I have now has a level 4 power plant (41.3 I think). Boy does this baby get hot when scooping and firing weapons.

I will try it, but if it is like the last time, I will have to remove/reinstall Windows 7.

Microsoft views anyone who isn't doing everything in their power to upgrade to Windows 10 in much the same way most of us view anti-vaxxers who think that vaccines cause autism, and then end up spreading small pox around their kids' school because of it.

Nobody should be shocked that they are forcing upgrades. Honestly, the ONLY thing I don't really like about windows 10 is that I can't get a mixer for my recording inputs. I am pretty sure by now that this is why people on discord can hear my game audio when I speak... it won't let me disable the wave device as something to record from. (I think the lack of this feature is actually to make sure that people CAN'T get in the situation I'm in for pirating stuff, yet I don't want it.) The only other problem I have (audio packet loss when using the HDMI audio out on my video card) is actually an Nvidia driver problem.

Windows 10 is in some very small ways, a little nicer, but for the most part, not that big a change from 7.

they released a "security update" recently that adds a nice little pop up that basically says "upgrading to windows 10 in 15 minutes unless you click no on this"

Just curious - do you have to have automatic updates on to get this pop up?

Btw, I have 10 on my laptop and I hate it. It's not that it's that bad for everyday use, but when you try digging into it it's much more difficult to find things or get things done. It's still a crap load better than 8, but I'll take 7 any day over 10. And at work, we have several outdated CAD programs that won't work with 10 and will cost tens of thousands to upgrade, so we're really not interested in their "free" upgrade.

Wishing I could be in three places at the same time:

a) At the border of the permit shell around the witch head nebula, trying to find a way in.
b) In the Hind nebula, which lies in the centre of the three nebulas where barnacles have been found.
c) Above Merope 2A, to watch players battle a succession of Faragut Battlecruisers that are guarding a newly discovered barnacle. About 2.5km above the planetary surface.

I'll think I will stick with option a)
