Depends on the ship I suppose. I remember my corvette in beta got quite the agility boost with lvl 5 dirty drive upgrade

Hello,
Just upgraded my Python with a lvl3 clean drive tuning. Speed 282, Boost 345. :)
Still trying to find the chemical Manipulators for the FSD boost. I wonder how people are getting so many. Been jumping into USS and tried searching some ground POIs but still nothing.
Also looking for mechanical manipulator. Have 1, need one more. For shields.

Question: I noticed when I modded my thruster that I got a secondary effect that made my integrity attribute a positive value and made the mass increase smaller (guess my luck). Then when I decided to check if I can re-roll the same mod on the applied mod, the screen showed that I would actually get better results. Is this true? If you re mod your mod do you get better results? I don't have enough mats to try so asking here.

To add: was at a threat 0 USS. Found some interesting materials. Deployed collector to pick materials up. 2 ships show up claiming that the cargo was theirs. 1 master cobra and 1 competent viper. Collector kept picking up cargo. The 2 NPCs start attacking. Pissed of turned around selected weapons and blew them up. Police came to the scene while I was attacking the viper (already blown up the Cobra) and didn't bother to help.

Was at a Nav scanning wakes and ships, and hoping for a wanted transport when I spotted a wanted Elite clipper getting attacked. Decided to join in the fun. Clipper starts shooting me with rails. I was far enough away for the rails to hit. Got a thermal Attack warning, waited for Lady Jayne to cool down then continued my attack. Then got an impulse attack warning, didn't seem to do much. Clipper hit SCB when I was attacking so was not making much progress. The NPC attacking the clipper started hitting it with rails and the Clupper's shields start to go down. Clipper then tries to ram me, grazes my shields, looses his. At this point my multis start tearing into the Clipper. He then turns to me and we are practically nose to nose. Clipper starts firing his rails and that's when I notice his rails are actually on his wing tips. Nose to nose, the Clipper kept missing with all his shots and with the help of the other NPC we just blew him away. Not any good material there to gather though.

Thing I realised after the fight, is that impulse attacks come from rails and mines. And the thermal attack comes from the Retribution laser. Because with 2.1 you face of against power play ships even if you are not pledged to a power.

Yeah, it seems SOME rails do more damage to shields than others, too. Not really sure why that is O.o

I think it also improves agility to some extent. Mind you, I spend half the time with FA-OFF I can't tell.

I'm just not cutout for this game anymore... holy hell. Can't find modular terminals... Just can't find em. FINALLY I see a mission with them for the reward. Typical kill two smugglers, no biggy. Go to the system, search the nav beacon, THERE'S MY GUY! I fly in close to scan, he starts scanning me first... then he... Plows in to me at max boost and dies? Suddenly I am wanted, shields are out, and my conda is down to 38%.... I tossed my entire explore asp just to be able to afford to fly this thing, im not about to loose it now, so I combat log. Now I am wanted in the system I need to do this mission in, my conda is totaled, and I just feel mad and At a complete loss as to what to do now. I think I am done with this engineer BS, if anyone wants to donate the crap I need, feel free, but I am sure as heck not hunting it down if it is this kind of trouble.

I wonder if I'm the only one that haven't been at all to an engineer location. I may try for an FSD upgrade after I return from the black in a couple of weeks, after that I will be gone into the black for an extended period most likely...

had my anaconda to Ceos/sothis, took a few missions, they alltogether paid 25 million, this is nice money. Then went to farseer, the engi with fsd and engines to sell exploration data for xp, gave around a million.
And as i was plotting route to exioce i lost power to my apartment for a few seconds.. well, desktop wont like that

For those I found a NAV beacon is a good place to look, they tend to come from traders (bigger the better), and there are some wanted traders passing through NAV beacons, and help in the form of other bounty hunters and system security.
Also you can get combat ship materials in the nav as well from wanted pirates. And having other ships around helps when you want to try and scoop without being pestered.

Or find an anarchy system (no bounty incurred), or even better, find one of the 'seeking weapons' T9 in an anarchy and blow them up.
No bounty if in an anarchy, good for the galaxy (one less arms dealer) and usually some nice engineer materials.

I dont use collector limpets, as in a NAV they may pick up illegal cargo and attract the wrong sort of system security attention. NAV is also good for scanning wakes and general ships (get shield / drive scans etc)

All in all, found them to be slightly quicker than looking through mission boards for ones with the right perks.

Although modular terminals are a pain. Only ever seen those from missions.
