I was doing the same for two weeks and I finally stumbled on a mission at Xhosag for the Barons of Hip 112441.

Pah, I finally go the last of the chemical distilleries I needed for my FSD mod, annnnnd it ended up worse than the grade 3 one. So I went without and am back to square one...

The grade 3 wasnt even a very great roll... but this one was almost minimal

Doing the CZ CG at Daramo. Built an FAS for it, since I don't want to risk my Vette or Python. It's already at tier 9, with some huge payouts.

I made a quick run (got my butt handed to me) and went back to station with only $44k in bonds, and I'm in the top 50%. That's an $11.4mil reward! Apparently a lot of guys signed up and only did a couple of kills.

And.... there are missions on the board for killing opposition ships in the CZ. More money.

Is it still possible for sign up for both sides, and then alternate between the two sides to pick up both sets of rewards, or did FD fix this by now?

AFAIK you can sign up for both sides. The Imperial CG is not doing well though, and probably won't pay out much in the way of rewards.

Oh, a mercenary's dream conflict. Will need to keep an eye on the usual sources of intelligence for the tier boundaries, and maybe pop back into the bubble for one or two quick sorties for each side.

Yeah, I'm starting to see how this works. I don't need chemical distilleries, so I have 10 and stopped collecting them and still see them all the time. Meanwhile, I have a pinned blueprint for three weeks with two special materials on it. I haven't been searching for them (until tonight), but I haven't found any either.

I headed back Black Hide just to make sure I wasn't missing any information to help me find the materials I need. Then I decided to drive around the base a while. When I left the settlement and recalled my ship, it landed on a hanger with a fine. After I find my way up on the hanger and take off, they launch about a dozen missiles at me - most of them easily outrun.

Then I check the mission board at a nearby station to see if the materials I need are available as rewards. No, they weren't, but you guessed it, chemical distilleries were.

This game can be extremely frustrating at times!
