Could someone explain why/how NPCs are showing up where I am, when I am well out of the human bubble? I mean, it's getting a bit ridiculous. Find pristine rings in a totally empty system, drop locally to the rings, and BAM, instantly 2-5 NPCs spawn.

If I go back out to 2,000LY, will this still happen?

That's what I am taking there. Going to dump data and grind level 1 parts. Probably going to fly back to Jameson after that, and switch to my Asp for some planetary mining.

I was hovering over the crater/cave on the side of the mountain, in the center of the massive crater.. when that scumbag imperial courier spawns from nowhere. I had been scouting a location to land, and was safely bringing my conda to the ground.

Regardless, I frakked off from that place.. stupid NPCs know how to ruin my day. My conda brings all the gankers to the session... they're like 'give me your cargo or die'..

I love being interdicted within 5 seconds of arriving at a system. It's truly the best.
I normally don't complain about anything with this game, but that's one of the things that's just like, really, come on.

Been there, nearly died from that. I jumped out earlier at one jump to Daciat, or whatver the farseer system is, and had an FDL waiting for me.. I wish NPCs spawned based on the frakkin' system status and population, not based on me having 1 tonne of rigellian nude females in my hold, or whatever would be the elite equivalent.. maybe Aisling Slave Look-Alikes.. I dunno.

Oh well.. the worst part of my night by far was finding out that I need a bunch of Praseodymium, an element I was mining earlier quite effectively, and had no idea it was worth a blasted thing, so I didn't bother to finish scooping it.. now I'm at Farseer, level 4 and 65%.. and I need that frakkin' stuff to increase my FTL range.

This is the exact problem with not playing Elite for months. I miss the small information and kick myself in hindsight.. Oh well, Doing a completionist run of The Witcher through The Witcher 3, was well worth it.

Still, Engineers have given Elite a purpose again. I, among many others, have things to do again, items to collect, places to explore. It is tedious in cases.. but wow, I do find myself really love/hating this stuff.

And by the time I remember to post this, I've hit 5 stars with Farseer. Woot. Got a decent 3 second boot time reduction on my FSD after all that grinding.

I literally had to start wearing my polarized sun glasses when I started my trip to jauqes, from the sheer blindingness of staring at a star every freakin' minute or two. Exacerbated a nearly-cured case of eyestrain from a failing LCD earlier this year..

So, after another hour, I'm up to a whole 1t of Painite. And this is in my 3rd system with Prestine Metallics. I thought I had struck [more than] gold when I got Painite in my first rock. But I was stuck at 50% towards 1t for the next hour. Sigh ... far less Painite than there used to be in these rings of mine.

In all seriousness, other than him ripping off the Brexit joke from Twitter, he makes for a good, mellow "insulation board" from Chris' constant, endless yelling on TG. Don't know if they are going to survive long-term, but at least it is a balance he brings to the table ... not that it's a good duo in overall entertainment.

Well I'm back. Good Vacation. Many Beer, Lotsa Good Food and Friends, Sleeping in a tent with the missus is not that bad (Mattress is 2m X 1.5M X0.5m high) and the weather was good. Got no Fish, Set off Fireworks Illegally, Spent more time in the middle of the night drinking than sleeping. So Far so Good.

Came back and heard from Dawg there were some issues. See That Bob has a New Mug, Kharma is Dying, Dawg is Bitching. Ok, somewhat normal. Log in and was 2km above a planet. no Thrusters. Somehow I turned FAoff and could not figure out how to turn it on before my DBS splattered itself on the surface. Weeeee! What a start.

Now back in the station and heading to get Arnie the Anaconda. Need to pick up some commodities for a Lvl 5 FSD on him.
